SETTLEMENT: RED SONJA LLC V. PARADOX ENTERTAINMENT INC

In February of 2006 Paradox Entertainment, Inc. (“Paradox”) acquired the Robert E. Howard library of works from the heirs of Robert E. Howard. Prior to that acquisition Red Sonja LLC (“RS”), or its predecessors had adapted the character Red Sonja from the Red Sonya heroine created by Robert E. Howard in his story The Shadow of the Vulture.

Shortly thereafter disputes arose between Paradox and RS which culminated in various claims and counterclaims being filed in federal court in Delaware. The parties have settled the case and resolved all disputes.

RS has acquired all of Paradox’s rights in Robert E. Howard’s short story The Shadow of the Vulture and Paradox has acquired an exclusive license to reprint Robert E. Howard’s prose story The Shadow of the Vulture.

Paradox endorses RS’s exclusive ownership of the trademark Red Sonja, regardless of spelling. RS endorses Paradox’s exclusive ownership of Hyboria, subject to RS’s continuing license to place its Red Sonja character in Hyboria.

For further information about licensing Red Sonja please contact Luke Lieberman at Red Sonja, LLC. For information about licensing Paradox characters please contact Leslie Buhler at Paradox Entertainment, Inc.
