Ennio Morricone — Il Triello, from The Good The Bad and the Ugly

Makes me listen to Metallica when I think of that album.... ;)

Clockwork Angels, the latest album by Canadian prog-rock legends Rush. B)
"It is more than a mortal sea. Your hands are red with blood and you follow a red sea-path, yet the fault is not wholly with you. Almighty God, when will the reign of blood cease?"

Turlogh shook his head. "Not so long as the race lasts."

I recently discovered the French two-piece Alcest, best described as an ambient melodic goth metal band with occasional black metal elements.

I know that sounds like a mess but it really works when you listen to it. Very atmospheric with mostly sparse arrangements. I've become a big fan.

It's hard to pick a defining track or album. I say just go to YouTube and check some of their stuff out.

I have recently re-discovered JUDAS PRIEST :
they were big faves of mine after the classic BRITISH STEEL album.
but their next lp was poor, so i went off them. [ i like too many bands, and different music ]

I was directed to
THE ESSENTIAL JUDAS PRIEST [ 2cd best of ] last month.
WOW ! what a great collection of 34 tracks. I was amazed and delighted by many i had never known.
on the strength of that i have since got
PAINKILLER
and ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION : both great albums [ except the mostly ponderous and cheesy 'loch ness' monstrosity ] .

Can any of you recommend the huge
NOSTRADAMUS project, please?
I have read very mixed reviews about it.

And which bands do you suggest are most like Priest ?
I like the hard rockin and melodic heavy metal music, the great voice, the superb guitar riffs and solos, and the themes of fantasy, horror and sci-fiction.

AVATARS GALORE
HYBORIAN Limericks + Rhymes
Lots of FUN and serious new RHYMING Hyborian/Fantasy poetry.

"So I took to a life of adventure and daring
leaving most warriors drooling and staring.
After I danced with my exotic flesh baring
I would vanish into the new Sunrise glaring."
