Conan: Road of Kings #10
With Tarantia under siege, Conan just wants to get out of town, but the promise of a reward wins out. Drafted into an assassination plot, the Cimmerian becomes part of the struggle over who will rule Aquilonia, while still protecting the mother and child in his care. But when the plan falls apart, Conan finds himself up against both an army and the palace dragon!

Melissandre and Jaime Lannister? Just my first thought hehe. ;) Once again, a nice cover - I really like this artist.

One page preview... can`t tell yet if I definetely like it or not. But the style is different from anything I`ve seen, which is not a bad thing. Actually it`s a good thing.
Keep it up, Mr. Panosian.

is that the same penciler as all through the arc? Because that looks alright, but what I've seen on the comic pages has been horrible. Not even read the handfull I picked up last week because I couldn't bear to look.
'why does he have to be a misfit? Why can't he be handsome and kind?'

'You're still a dreamer girl'.

Indeed, the art shown in Road of Kings is terrible, awful and a real let down.

Panosian work, though, looks fine to me. Remembers a lot Alex Nino!!!!! (See Savage Sword of Conan vol. 1).

This is very nice - substantially stylized and very competantly drawn!

The cover is very nice. Not so hot about that interior art. I stopped picking this book up at the third issue anyhow though.

Just saw some of my friend Mike Hawthorne's pages for issue #11 of Road of Kings and they look pretty amazing! I'm really looking forward to #12!

If that was how I portrayed Conan I think it would be fair to bar me from this site! ;)

Here's another sneak peek at #10. I can't give away any story - so this is just a mash up of a few panels.

Mr. Panosian, your style is really different. A mix of Zuniga and Alex Nino, in my opinion. I´m looking foward to reading the complete preview and see how things shape up.

The closer one definitely looks like Buscema/Zuniga from those days of Savage Sword and looks real nice... the top right one not too sure, looks like it is incomplete and needs more work. what happened to the face?

He's been beaten up pretty badly. Plus, every shot is not going to be lit the same way or with the same shadows. These are just some various panels mashed together. It also gets colored.

Tough crowd sometimes here on this message board... I gotta say, some of the artists people here rave about look awful, in my opinion. It's a bit mind boggling. I see cover artists that basically paint over photographs and add a photoshop trick or two and everyone does back flips over it. Others quibble over minor details that are merely an artist's interpretation. My Conan, visually speaking, is born from the Buscema days and Frazetta days. I'm not going to change that. Luckily for some, this is my last issue. Hopefully, some of you have enjoyed this treatment/perspective.

Everyone has their own tastes and I respect that. I just hope you guys dig what I'm dong. I've been a fan of Conan since I was a 14 year old kid and I'm thrilled/proud to be working with a legend like Roy Thomas. It's been a cathartic journey from issue #9 to #10 and artistically there's a few leaps in depth.

It's been fun.

I like the pages you`ve been providing in this forum, Mr. Panosian. And I also like the fact that you post frequently here, that you care about what fans think about your work.
I don`t wanna be misunderstood, nor do I want to be harsh or whatever. Hope I haven`t sound like that.
Anyway, your work is very promising and it should deliver a great experience. I bet on it.
