Pig Lick'n Good

20 May 2009 - 11:11 PM

It seems that in past years Howard fans who visit Brownwood have a favorite gathering place to eat and visit on THURSDAY night prior to the official beginning of Howard Days on Friday.  Humphrey Pete's in Brownwood (across the Bayou in Early actually) is extending another hearty WELCOME to
Howard Fans.  I spoke with the management today and they may even arrange for a special room for all of us if enough show up.  I think in the past, it's has been a "word of mouth" gathering, but if more knew about it, we could really enjoy a great meal and have fun...."ahead of time".  Some from our FROG (Friends and Relatives of Greenleaf) group may show up to "meet and greet" you.  If anyone has a particular "dining time", let's hear it.  Any suggestions?

Howard Gravesite, Brownwood

07 May 2009 - 11:45 PM

Hello Howard Fans!  I rep a citizen's group in Brownwood called "FROG" (friends and relatives of Greenleaf) and we're hosting a reception of
sorts at the Howard gravesite at Greenleaf Cemetery.  We'll have cold refreshments and info/location of gravesites of some of Bob's friends such as Tevis Clyde Smith and Novalyne.  I'm a lifelong resident of Brownwood and can offer local info.  Practically everyone here knows me as we've owned the local bicycle shop called "The Bike Peddler" for over 20 years! Our FROG group is  looking forward to attending the celebration dinner  and BBQ in Cross Plains Fri and Sat and meeting more Howard fans.  Please Come to Greenleaf!  Be sure to mention this blog!
See you Soon!
