It is one of those things with class balance probably.  If the character has issues with the mobs it is because he is a healer and primarily not a quick kill character like tha assassin or barb.  You may need to invest in top notch blue protection from Trader and get a good dmg weapon for the BS to do it fast and quick.  I had the same issue with my BS on other quests, though I may do this to see later with my BS as he is all blue geared and let you know.

I couldn't survive the first mob attacks before I upgraded my weapon, so that has helped. Even my sixty-something level Guardian struggled. And she's all melee. Just relentless mobs with multiple beatings at once.. Would like a few more individual or paired matchups.

Regardless, a werewolf story line is neat.

In Topic: Solomon Kane Movie Reviews and Comments

So, with Solomon Kane streamable on Netflix, I got to see it over the weekend. I am an REH fan and I've read fantasy and played RPG games since the mid-seventies. I understand that film is a different medium and an adaptation doesn't have to be exact: but you should still be able to see the character in the movie.

All that said, I found this to be quite an entertaining movie. The gore level and film style reminded me of Patfhinder (thankfully, this was a much better film). Kane is a bit dour, but that fits the character. The storyline was relatively simple (we've certainly seen it in a lot of westerns), but it worked. The special effects were rather Dungeons and Dragons-ish, but that's fine with me.

I'd certainly watch this again, or a sequel. I consider it much  better than the last Conan reboot. For a film starring relatively unkown character from eighty-ish years ago, in a non-traditional fantasy setting, they did a pretty nice job with this.

I've got mixed feelings on the Werewolf Halloween event so far. I do like the story. But my 40th level Bear Shaman is having a HECK of a time dealing with the werewolf mobs in the town. There is usually four (sometimes five, I think) and they initially focus on my character. I run around and get the guards involved and try to fight just one if I can. If not, I heal and keep running until the numbers are better. I've died at least a half dozen times and I'm still in the town square, trying to talk to the shaman.

If the rest of the quest is waves of werewolf mobs, I don't know if I'll stick it all out. I can't imagine if I didn't have a melee class.

I do have a pair of cool cloaks so far, though. And the pumpkin thing was kinda neat.

Getting back to a little playing after about a nine month break from the game. Still really impressed with the graphics. Aside from the mail/message issue I read about, has the server merge had much impact on playing? PvE, anyways?

I'm trying a Bear Shaman this time around: okay, but rather uninspiring as I near the end of Tortage. Enjoyed my Ranger and Gaurdian more.

In Topic: The Hyborian Age and the Cthulhu Mythos (according to REH)

Hmm.... interesting points here, guys.... I'm woefully behind on my reading of Lovecraft and non-Conan Howard, and I've never read a word of C.A. Smith or Derleth.

Derleth's Cthulhu Mythos stories are lame.  He didn't believe in Lovecraft's philosophy of cosmic indifferentism.  His stories are about good vs. evil and completely incompatible with Lovecraft's earlier work.  Don't waste your time.  Clark Ashton Smith, on the other hand, is awesome.

However, if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan, Derleth's Solar Pons tales are the next best thing to the originals. In fact, quite a few are better than some of Doyle's Holmes tales.

Some day I'll finish up my site: http://www.solarpons.com/
