Oops! Give me 40 lashes with a wet pasta sword.Interesting site Ironhand..
However...
The Woodstown Viking site is located near Waterford in the Republic of Ireland not Scotland ( south east corner of Ireland to be exact)
Funny thing is I was on that road and must have passed that place on holiday and never even knew it..

"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

I can't put the link in this post 'cause I'm at work, but when I get home I'll either edit this post or append a 2nd post, with the link. Sorry about the wait.
Lets have the link!

All jokes aside though; marvelous work that guy does. I'm extremely fascinated by Norse culture (I have more than a few Vikings in my familial woodpile after all!), and man...those ships are quite simply beautiful.

I'll bring my video camera. If I had the dough I'd definitely get one! How cool would it be to row ashore onto Wreck Beach (local nudist day-spot here in Vancouver) with a boombox blasting some MOONSORROW and just start pillaging!?! Those hippies wouldn't know what hit 'em!

Makes me think of the Cormac Mac Art yarns, with Cormac and Wulfhere standing on deck, leaning into the salty wind of some frosty fjord.
Check it out!

The Viking Answer Lady is about the greatest viking-information website I've ever seen. It's a godsend when researching or writing historical fiction. Tons of everyday life, technology, and assorted other detailed articles.

What a wonderful site about all things Viking! Thanks!
