All I have seen is the bust from the back
Ok, the muscle tone looks a little exagerrated but Im keen to see the facial details.
A full figure piece would have been nicer though

But if you look closely at the pommel of the sword, its looks like the Atlantian Sword to me.

Although another Arnie based piece would be nice I would prefer one base on Frazettas work or suchlike..
Being a modeller I can think of at least 6 figures out there based on Arnies Conan ( I have 3 of them) but as far as I know the only non Arnie ones out there are done by Hard Hero (but its so damn expensive) and the Frazetta book cover ones.( which I cant seem to find in the UK

It doesn't look anything like Arnold from the movie other than the sword being the same.
Whatever, it's just a rock.

deathadderHell, I'm all for promoting Conan. But I don't think making stupid sculptures will generate new fans.
Stupid sculptures? Why are they stupid? And why does every item have to cater for the new fans - heck, cant I be selfish and want something for ME!!!!
Sculptures are about as "stupid" as owning swords, helmets, computer games, artwork etc, every fan collects what they are into. I woud surmise that your not into statues etc.. your choice but dont knock anyone else for thier interests.
.. Without those sculptures you would have no action figures, model kits etc.
Theyre all part of the Conan merchandise line. Not everyone is limited to reading the books or comics theres other outlets for conan too.

Hell! "I'am still pissed off about that one,but supposely a line of toys are on the way"!
Even if the Mini-Bust doent look like Arnold, just having the sword is great!
Budgie! You try finding the Frazetta statues on Ebay,I always see them their all the time for useally under $40.

The old Conan figures were plain mince
As to the Frazetta line of statues I do occasionally see them on ebay.com. Ive seen them go for as little as $19.00 but its the postage to the UK thats the killer, thats what puts me off..

Barbarian (by Spyda)
They have two others based on Arnie though:
Barbarian (different sculpt) - based on the scene of Arnie storming the mountain in warpaint
and
Pit fighter - self explanitory really!!

Having seen photos of the bust, I can only say that it is an amalgam of several iconic visions of Conan. It's worth the wait, and probably the second best Conan sculpture I've seen (second to Clayburne Moore's Frazetta piece).

I was half right then, Arnold's Atlantian sword with frazetta's Conan body, its a nice blend.
Arnolds face should have been used though.

I like the vein work and facial expression, really grim.. not sure about the strapping and elaborate jewelry though
Good to see its possibly part of a series of busts though. and $50.00 aint to bad for the size, must be around 1/4 scale.
Pity It wasnt a full figure

I read your thread and saw the pic of the metal Conan miniature. It's a nice piece.
What is the name of the company that produces it and the two others you mentioned? Would "Spyda" be the name of the sculpter, or the name of the company, and would you have a link?
Here's a couple I found made by Andrea Miniatures and Michigan Miniatures

Yeah, it's approx. 3" tall and both figures run about $25.00 apiece. A little expensive, but they sure look good on the shelf.
What's nice is, if you're not the artistic type, Andrea will put them together and paint them for you. Although I'm not sure how much that runs.
You can also get both figures through Michigan Minitatures for quicker delivery.
I'd still like to know where I can find those figures by Spyda.

The metal conan on my site is also by Andrea minitures, its just called "Barbarian" (as in Barbarian I).
The other piece ( The non Arnie large pice with the axe is sculpted by a guy called Jason "Spyda" Adams, its called "New Barbarian" and is available from Amok Time in New York..
if you get one I wouldnt mind hearing your views on it..
As to the large Arnie in warpaint one by Mike Mendez one its produced by Needful things, its called "Barbarian " too!!
Dark Carnival has that one. They also do the large Arnie in armour from the end battle as well.
Andreas painting service may not be too bad and it will be to a higher standard than mines,.. 54mm is a hard size to paint, I prefer 1/6 or 1/4.. must be my eyesight
