Oh man , Strom that is a great link , there's a few more pages of peanut-gallery comments about that "Monty" ( as the 'Montauk' sea-monster is now nicknamed ) so before the page even finishes loading I clicked on another picture to see if there was another view of it & I had to seriously turn around from my desk chair & back away from my computer like it had just jolted me with a taser because I was laughing so hard at this comment : .............

The south half of that Montauk "monster" looks like a mole that somebody had buried in their backyard for a week.

My theory (apart from "it's a monster!") is that Monty's a deformed or skinned turtle of some sort.

A quick google says "nope".Are there any turtle species with teeth in their beaks, though (aside from ones that might possibly be found in the Hyborian Age, I mean)?
Jeff Corwin thinks that it's a dog or racoon.
The lower jaw may be from a different beast than the skull...

False alarm everybody , it turns out the 'gryphon' face was just some debris blocking the creatures real face , when the head was swept off of sand , here's what was underneath.......

Rumor has it that the nearby animal testing facility "team" members swooped up and took the remains under the pretense of "scientific analysis". The next day the facility was completely abandoned! I heard this on the radio, so I'm sure it is true. Crazy.

I like monsters in wild. My favorite is:
1) Eunectes murinus aka Anaconda
- longest seen 10m; but the story goes that we have them long 20-30 m....Man or beast don't have chance against that monster.
2) Carcharodon carcharias aka Great White Shark
- king of the sea (longest 8m) and horror for victims; what about Megalodon size of 12-18 m
(look that jaws man)
3) Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni aka Colossal Squid
- No.1 sea monster and ultimate whale killer with 14-20m long body
4) Crocodylus niloticus aka Nile Crocodile
- I mean of Gustave, a massive Nile crocodile living in Burundi 20 ft long and weighing around 1 ton...real monster who killed 300 victims more or less
5) Hogzilla II
- The hunters claimed that the pig was 9 ft 4 in (2.84 m) in length from the tip of its snout to the end of its tail...and hog was rushed to the slaughterhouse was so that it could be turned into approximately 500 to 700 lb (227 to 318 kg) of sausage.
It's domestic pig but what will be if that was wild boar??
Special mention:
Beast of G?vaudan - estimated a toll of 210 attacks resulting in 113 deaths and 49 injuries. 98 of the victims killed were partially eaten....man-eating wolf-like animals that terrorised the former province of G?vaudan (modern day d?partement of Loz?re), in the Margeride Mountains in south-central France from 1764 to 1767 over an area stretching 90 x 80 km
The Man-eaters of Tsavo - attacks by man-eating lions on the builders of the Uganda Railway in Tsavo, Kenya in 1898 and how the lions were eventually killed by Patterson. It was remarkable as nearly 140 people were killed by the maneaters in less than a year before Patterson managed to kill them ....1996 The Ghost and the Darkness is a film about the Tsavo maneaters
