There are a lot of things I like about Kull...but just by what I have read of Howard I feel that Conan is the tougher of the two. One way or another I would not want to be the one to have to clean all the blood up after those two fought.

Was that the same issue that showed Red Sonja and was revealed that Kull was Conan's ancestor??
I don't think remember them relating Conan to Kull in the story, but Sonja (and Belit) is in it.

Read your Howard and the answer is right before your noses.
Conan is a big and strong man. But he does not have the superhuman/infrahuman strength of Kull, who is a feral man like ERBs Tarzan.
In "Slithering Shadow" a Cthulhu-ey critter whips the $#!+ out of Conan and he is very much the worse for wear in taking it on.....
But what happens when Kull takes on a similar Cthulhu-ey tentacled critter in "Delcardes Cat"?
Kull reaches out and grabs a tentacle and PULPS it in a vice like grip.
In other words, an abominable monster that could nearly whip the Cimmerian to death is hardly a nuisance to Kull.
Conan was a heck of a man but he was raised by men.
Kull was a bit more as he was raised by tigers in the jungles of Atlantis.
As Howard points out, despite his scorn, Conan nearly met his match in Baal Pteor. Kull never met anybody close to his match and he could have kicked Conan's ass without breaking a sweat.
Comic book writers like Roy Thomas and later, Mike Fleischer turned Conan into a sort of Machiste movie with goofy feats of strength that Howard's Conan would not have been capable of.
How did Conan get out of the dungeon in Hour of the Dragon? He didn't break any chains that I recall or bend any steel bars.
Don't mistake Fuaxnan for Conan.

Bronze does not always make you a winner... unless you know how to use it to your advantage.
I Love Conan, and have been a serious fan since I was 8.But I have to say Kull would be one to train the Young Barbarian in matters of winning battles=)
Shatter the Enemys cohesion through a variety of rapid,focused,unexpected actions which create a turbulent and rapid deteriorating sitchuation in which the enemy cannot cope. Department of the Navy.
Facinated at birth with the power of a Gun, Trained as a Troop to weild one effectively, and still loveing them today.
Nothing beats a well placed sling shot to the bridge of the nose=)

I grew up on the Marvel Conan...the one that could pull a whole column buiding down with a rope (can't remember the issue) or lift his horse with one arm (SSOC 118)...so in my world Conan could kick Kull's arse!
The only problem with that theory is that Kull was also a Marvel superhero!

I guess I could always connect (or at least project my unconscious desires) in conjunction with Conan's life a lot more than I could with Kull. Kull is a king, sure, but Conan is more a force of nature than an actual person...he's this primal, elemental thing. It's like comparing Gill Man to Godzilla.

Well, I think Breckinridge Elkins could take 'em both at the same time with one hand tied behind his back!
Right on, WG!

The cord to the nock, the shaft to the ear, and the king of
Koth for a mark -
- I remember, The dark woods, masking slopes of sombre
hills;
The grey clouds' leaden everlasting arch;
The dusky streams that flowed without a sound,
And the lone winds that whispered down the passes. -
(Cimmeria, REH)
- Every hour harms, it's the last one that kills -
