If they want it to make serious money, yes!
If it's not marketing right, it could fall flat on it's arse and McGowan isn't a draw.

I mean, she's a comic book character. You know how difficult it is to sell those properties nowadays . . .
"It is more than a mortal sea. Your hands are red with blood and you follow a red sea-path, yet the fault is not wholly with you. Almighty God, when will the reign of blood cease?"

Turlogh shook his head. "Not so long as the race lasts."

She's a comic book character that wears next to nothing, manages to look stupidly hot no matter the conditions, has serious cans despite her fighting skills, has no visable scars depsite the abount of battles she's been in.... need I go on!! <_<
This one will have to be in a praticular style to work.

Anyways:

Here's something I knocked up after hearing the announcement.
This is not what I would do for the main poster but given as this thing ain't even started production, I think this makes for a good first round, hype building type poster.

I hope you guys like it!

Nice. I see you resist the temptation of a full-figure shot. A close-up is actually a lot more enticing.

Thanks!
I got a whole bunch of great ideas but you gotta work with whatever is already out there which ain't a lot.
Plus, we have no idea what she's gonna wear so it's best play it safe!
I'd like to a totally different one for SDCC but I dunno if I will have the time.

Honestly , am I the only guy on these boards who finds Rose 'Pixie-Nose' Mcgowan completely unnattractive in an absolutely & thoroughly negligeable uninterested way ? She has a positively 'annoying 12-year-old little cousin in goth drag' quality that makes you want to tell her parents to keep her home & never let her see the light of day until she finally learns how to read & stops getting kicked off the short-bus every week for excessive drooling & loud mouth-breathing .

- I should quit joking , or I might give the impression that I don't absolutely think the world of her & her unnatractive , unintelligent , untalented adorable self & those bulgy , vacant , bee-sting Bette Davis hyper-thyroidism eyes of hers .  :o :(

You could bounce a tennis ball down Melrose or Santa Monica Blvd. and it would touch at least two dozen redheads two dozen times hotter than Rose McGowan.

It could have been worse. They could have picked Lindsey Lohan.

Rose wasn't my first choice, either. I thought Ally Larter (Heroes) would have been a good choice for the role.

hahahahah :D Having a little circumlocutionalistical fun . I don't think she's offensively ugly at all , but she is def. just everyday average plain-Jane I. M. Op.

& I def. don't think she's one of the 'great' actresses of our day .

Her mannerisms are not very inspiring either. She was the co-host on TCM's Essentials and I just didn't get it. She has no particular quality to her comments. She has a hard time elaborating on any of the points brought forth, rather, she would make a sweeping comment that was more like a generalization, or just repeating what others said even better over the years regarding the films and the directors, actors, etc, as opposed to something either insightful or even eloquent. Then there's that flat almost, nasal monotone voice, it has no distinct characteristic other than being forgettable. I don't hate the woman, I guess she's fine as a B-girl persona, but she's no modern reflection of the effect her film heroes have had on her. I guess she's attractive enough for this version of Sonja, and seeing as they'd have to have a time machine casting a young Sophia Loren in the role for me to even be interested enough to rent it, well, I can't say I'm terribly concerned one way of the other. Heck, they could have Rosie O'Donnell in the role for all I care.

Maybe they should have a red-headed baby play Red Sonja since they are rebooting her as an infant in the comic.

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a McGowan fan. I loved her performance in "Jawbreaker" and "The Doom Generation" (btw, rent the unrated version if you're curious to what she looks like naked). I never watched a single episode of "Charmed", but I loved her in "Grindhouse". To me, McGowan with Tarantino /Rodriguez seemed like a match made in heaven; a classic b-movie actress in an homage to b-movies. No, she'll probably never win an Oscar, but she won't give a totally wooden performance like say, Bridgett Neilson, either.

I'd like if it was made a movie with Red Sonya of Rogatino being reincarnation of a post-Hyborian Red Sonja who had Vanir and Hyperborean blood - a red-haired Hyrkanian, as shown in the 1970/80's comics, has nothing to do with REH!
