I'm looking forward to Dredd 3D. I'm a fan of the character since first reading 2000AD back in 1977. Stallone's film was a travesty of justice but from what I have seen they might actually have got this right.

I here ya, I also bought the comic in the early 80's and enjoyed the ultra fururistic doom of it all. The Dredd film does look good, but I am wondering can these actors pull it off? We had a b style actor do the Conan, and he pulled it off abit without it being ridiculas, but this guy doing Dredd, I do have my doubts? I hope it is good for the Comic sake as it could do with a reward as of late.

The Hobbit, man I can't wait! :)

Lawless. Right in my wheelhouse. Three backcountry bootlegger brothers in a war with corrupt cops. Fedoras. Tommy Guns. Done by a serious director. What more can you ask for?

I saw a trailer for "Les Miz" starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Ann Hathaway.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!" - Conan, in "Shadows in Zamboula", by Robert E. Howard
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

Yeah Lawless looks good. I thought End of Shift with Ryan Gosling and that guy from Observe and Report looked pretty good...

Just found this news regarding a John Wesley Hardin biopic. REH was fascinated by the Texas gunman. Here's an archive piece from The Cimmerian on the subject.

This is the last movie this year I'm really excited to see....but Roth's meddling doesn't really give me a lot of hope for it. He convinced RZA to cut it down from four hours to an hour and a half....

Am I the only one who heard that there may be an official cinematic release of SOLOMAN KANE in the USA?

Also looking forward to THE HOBBIT, SKYFALL (I hope the rumour that Adele sings the title track is true...I only wish it could've been a duet between her and Siouxsie...that would've been CLASSIC), and OZ, also AREA 51 (which is supposedly getting a 2012/13 release soon).

Also, just saw RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK in IMAX (good experience...next week, all 4 movies will be released in a "see all for one price".) and have already made plans to see the October 30th Anniversary thetrical re-release of E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL in lieu of the forthcoming Blu-Ray DVD later that month. It's a special DVD screen release w/ features and interviews w/ Drew Barrymore, etc. Relive childhood...good for the adult soul.

A Manimal movie. A film based on a TV show that last eight episodes.*

Why does Hollywood hate us so?

*Yes, I know, Firefly got a movie, but Firefly was GOOD.
"It is more than a mortal sea. Your hands are red with blood and you follow a red sea-path, yet the fault is not wholly with you. Almighty God, when will the reign of blood cease?"

Turlogh shook his head. "Not so long as the race lasts."

You could put the Man From Atlantiis and Manimal together in the League of Short-Lived TV Superheroes.

Yeah, Jackman looks pretty good as Wolverine, but I gotta say, I like Anastasia's avatar better!

Went to an Indiana Jones IMAX marathon over here a week ago - very awesome. All four movies for twenty five bucks.

Have heard great things about Looper.
