This group is frickin awesome. I think it would fit very well with the Conan theme. I can just picture Conan assaulting the keep of some evil sorcerer. Its very medieval-ish.
The song in particular sounds like some kind of cross between celtic and middle eastern. Definitely check this group out.
I also recently got the new Blind Guardian cd, A Twist in the Myth. They are one of my favorites bands. Power metal is such an awesome genre.

song is quite nice tbh, only the rhythm guitar appears a bit thin sound-wise.

why does all this folk stuff lack bite and drive - I mean it's not bad, but it just goes on and on without really going anywhere, until it's just some boring background sound droning on... so much wasted potential there imho :/

Well, their live performance sure didn't lack any "bite and drive". The CD is truly great; I wouldn't want them to change a note. It's all just a matter of personal taste I guess...

Started fine, but then it turned into grindcore.
why does all this folk stuff lack bite and drive - I mean it's not bad, but it just goes on and on without really going anywhere, until it's just some boring background sound droning on... so much wasted potential there imho :/
