Strom, you're gonna have to make another trip to CP to update the Howard House pictures. The Baums just donated the trunk belonging to Dr. Howard. It is labeled "I. M. Howard"-- I can't remember if it also says "Dr." on it or not but it now sits in Hester Howard's bedroom. I know, making another trip is a dirty job but someone has to do it! Just kidding. Perfect excuse though.

It's amazing how time flies! I'm hoping my next trip to CP is not far off, however the centennial celebration in '06 will always have a special place in my heart. I enjoyed my talks with Mrs. Baum (wonderful lady) when I was there and would love to see a pic of the Howard trunk.

I was fortunate enough to have been at Howard Days 2008. When I get the time I will upload the pics when I was there.

Hello all,
Very interesting video. I aim to make it out there one of these days. Got some other spots out "yonder" way I want to see, places they filmed western movies at and places mentioned in books.

If you ever have the chance to go to Cross Plains and visit the REH House you will not be disappointed. Project Pride has done an incredibile job of restoring the house to how it would've looked in the 1930's when Bob lived there. Please realize that it is expensive to maintain the museum and any donations to Project Pride help secure the future of this great museum and historic site.

I'd love to go tour his house but i'd be so scared i'd be tempted to pic up something and hold it just to say "I held such and such in my hands that Mr.Howard used when he was alive".

And if i was permited to i think the excitement of holding something he held in his hands would be so much i'd just burst out in to tears.

It will be a llifelong dream if I am afforded the opportunity to visit Robert E. Howard's home. My only worry is my disability. I have been in a wheelchair since 1980 and am wondering how accessible it is...?

I will check, that is a very good question.

I wonder if any psychics have ever visited that house and did any "readings", etc.. it would be something if they came away saying REH's ghost was hanging around the place. But then again, if there is such a thing as reincarnation then his spirit is in another body somewhere. Ya never know.

At the Howard Payne University in Brownwood -if you ask politely to the librarian- you can hold books that REH owned. I did so last June.
