Solomon Kane will be follow, but nothing will be definite until Kull is up and running, and an anthology book will eventually follow to showcase the more minor characters.

Hey Rachel! As far as I can tell
, you seem like an intelligent, responsive editor (and also a very nice person). Over on the Kull board, I've already expressed my opinion that a series/character-based "anthology" is the way to go. I know that the current two mini-series are set in stone, but that's the way I see the whole REH franchise. My two lunas.
Duly noted.

The discussion on who the artist should be can begin now. My choice would be the ole Swamp Thing creator and artist Bernie Wrightson. The exotic locales and dark tales would be perfect for Bernie. Make it happen DH! Here's a really cool link to Bernie's art:

Or maybe the ultra detailed Juan Jose Ryp - that would be cool. I would love to see his work a little darker.
Thanks for the link terry

Bernie Wrightson, Howard Chaykin, Greg Ruth, or some new unknown. It doesn't really matter as I trust Allie will have someone whose style is appropriate to the dark subject matter and darker moods of Kane, as well as being able to portray electrifying action scenes.

My impression of SK is that he views himself as a man on a mission, a righter of wrongs and the Sword of God.I was kind of confused by Allie's statement that Kane is driven by vengeance. Being a guy who just sort of wanders around and doesn't have much of a personal stake in killing the evildoers he meets, he always struck me as a man motivated by a sense of justice and moral outrage. Really extreme moral outrage
Vengeance to me implies that something was done directly to him and now he's out for some payback only for himself, which I don't recall from the original stories.
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

I did a whole storyboard that read like a comic for Kane, I should give it a shot.
Years and years ago I submitted to samples to a few editors at marvel... I should try it again....

John's doing the "Solomon Kane" covers, rounding out the Howard trio of books. I was in New York with him recently, and I told him I was writing the book. We were at a bar with Michael Kaluta -- who we also want to get to do some more on these books. I told John I was writing "Kane" and he started talking about what the book should look like, the iconic approach the character needs. He asked who was doing covers, and I told him I didn't know yet. He told me what the first one should look like -- he kind of went into a lot of detail, was clearly just riffing off the top of his head with considerable clarity -- and I said, "You want to do the covers?" He sort of paused and looked me in the eye, said, "Yeah, maybe that'd be fun." As he'd been talking, I don't think he'd even thought of doing the covers himself. Or maybe he was being coy.
But he's perfect -- he can do weathered guys, he's amazing with atmosphere, with black shapes, iconic compositions ... hats. Don't underestimate the difficulty of drawing hats, at least in making them look good. And of course amazing figure work, which will help bring the character to real life.
Cassady Cover Artist for Solomon Kane
Plus, Joe Kubert is doing a variant triptych cover for Kull, Conan & Solomon Kane:

I've loved Cassaday's work since Desperadoes with Age of Conan writer Jeff Mariotte - great news to have him aboard SK!

Even though the 2 pieces of art by Mario Guevara are just sketchs, I'm impressed by the energy in the color one and the world-building details in the b&w one.
And when the artist speciacally asks for this:
"Guevara asked to dedicate this interview to the memory of his friend Alfredo Alcala."
That already puts him in my "good books"!
