August or October?

I'll survive two more months of waiting without problem, but I'd still like to know just how long I have to wait ;)

I guess it's October - yet it was in the August solicitations. My bad. Mayhap the mods will edit the title to read Oct. '07?

I just go this book and I have to say it's definiteily a good read! I have a few questions though. Is this story a true REH story or one created by the writer? 2ndly, what is the fate os Zenobia in the REH series? Does Conan have any heirs? How come Toth-Amon didn't do anything to Ra-Sidh?

Hey AfBar! "Midnight God" takes place after The Hour of the Dragon, which is the last Conan tale, chronologically. In "Dragon", Conan swears to come back and make Zenobia his queen. In the same tale, it becomes painfully obvious to Conan that he must sire some legitimate heirs for the stability/continuance of his rule/dynasty. So, between the fact that the Cimmerian gave his word and the facts of political necessity, it would hard to see Conan NOT marrying Zenobia. Regarding your Thoth-Amon question, I haven't read the series. Hopefully, someone else can help you with that. :)

I didn't pick this up since I bought the individual comics, but I did quickly page through it at the comic shop. I noticed that it includes some extra story at the beginning (by a different artist too). Does this add anything significant to the story? I wonder why they decided to add these extra prequel-type pages...

I believe the extra story was the convention giveaway and was drawn by the original artist Tone Rodriguez. It was the Age of Conan/Funcom tie in. Here's the cover:

Very cool beginning to the dark tale! So they really didn't add it just for the trade, it was the original prequel. Try and pick it up on ebay OA - it was free so it shouldn't be that much.

Thanks Strom! That's some really nice work from Nord. Very well done. My only quibble would be the "dagger" (or whatever) looks like it would be fairly uncomfortable stuck where it is.

Good body language on both characters. She's betraying her fear by looking at Something. Conan, meanwhile, shows that he knows it's there, but only scowls, suggesting that he knows he could spring up in fraction of a second.

And maybe it's a curved blade, like a jambiya or whatever...

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, Strom. I remember seeing that cover here on the forums (I had saved the image to my computer, afterall), but I was never able to get my hands on the actual comic.

Deuce, thanks for the reply!

Yeah I hope somebody else gives more info on Ra-Sidh, and how he can get away with so much without Toth-Amon finding out. Also, I"m not sure if you have read any other of the graphic novels, but where does Demons of Khitai fall into the timeline?
