Looks good. I really like that cover illustration, though she's a bit pale to be Belit, don't you think?

Any chance of an interior preview?

Not at this time.
As the book nears publication, I hope to have additional info on the story contents and illustrations.

bthom, thanks for the tip! I already preordered it on Amazon. It looks like it will be a worthy addition to my collection.

Money and muscle, that's what I want; to be able to do any damned thing I want and get away with it. Money won't do that altogether, because if a man is a weakling, all the money in the world won't enable him to soak an enemy himself; on the other hand, unless he has money he may not be able to get away with it.

Yeah, but look at that face! She's totally hard-core. I think that's the best illustration of Belit I've ever seen.

That's just AWESOME! Thank you SO much, Bill. :D For those who might not know, the "Arnie Fenner" who has written the foreword is the editor/publisher (along with his wife, Cathy) of SPECTRUM magazine, the premier fantasy art publication.

This looks to be a great companion piece to Wandering Star's The Ultimate Triumph. Underwood is a quality publisher. I'm probably buying this one. Even the title kicks a$$!

This sounds great! Is the limited edition available for pre-order on amazon.com too?

And I am about to show ignorance - where is the title quote from?
“ Roll on me like a flood, now, if ye dare! Before your viper fangs drink my life I will reap your multitudes like ripened barley - of your severed heads will I build a tower and of your mangled corpses will I rear up a wall!.” - Bran Mak Morn in "Worms of the Earth"

Chapter 2 of Queen of the Black Coast

The Tigress ranged the sea, and the black villages shuddered. Tomtoms beat in the night, with a tale that the she-devil of the sea had found a mate, an iron man whose wrath was as that of a wounded lion. And survivors of butchered Stygian ships named Belit with curses, and a white warrior with fierce blue eyes; so the Stygian princes remembered this man long and long, and their memory was a bitter tree which bore crimson fruit in the years to come.

Probably the place to go for the limited edition will be Bud Plant, although its not listed yet. The limited edition of "Exile of Atlantis" is, though.

Thanks! I'm embarrassed I didn't know that considering "Queen of the Black Coast" is my favorite Conan story :(

Beautiful cover, and a fantastic title!

I wonder what the 9 Chosen Conan tales will be? I think Queen of the Black Coast is a given from the title, and Hour of the Dragon would be the full-length novel. What about the other 8?

I'd guess...
The Phoenix on the Sword
The Scarlet Citadel
The Tower of the Elephant
Rogues in the House
The People of the Black Circle
Beyond the Black River
Red Nails
The Black Stranger

I think these are good contenders. Any other guesses?

Hey Taranaich! MY guess would be that they'll try to tie the yarns in with as many FF Conan covers as they can (which matches up with your list pretty well). Then again, maybe not. :)

A gorgeous cover. They should have got Brom to illustrate those Gor books. His work has an S&M flavour, but then again he tends to favour dominant women, so maybe not! What a pity Del Rey didn't gey hold of him as well.

I love that cover illo. If I was a fat merchant sea captain on a fat merchant ship, those are definitely the last two people in the world I would want to meet.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!" - Conan, in "Shadows in Zamboula", by Robert E. Howard
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

Me WANT!!! ME MUST HAVE!!!

Is there an official release date yet?
"Let me live deep while I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when the blue blades flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and priest and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and am content" (Howard--Queen of the Black Coast).

Let's hope they find that 'unknown' and he bears a striking resemblance. Cuz that's almost perfect (IMO).
"Their present king is the most renowned warrior among the western nations. He is an outlander, an adventurer who seized the crown by force during a time of civil strife, strangling King Namedides with his own hands, upon the very throne. His name is Conan, and no man can stand before him in battle." ~ Orastes, 'The Hour Of The Dragon'

"Damned degenerates!" ~ Conan 'Xuthal Of The Dusk'

Conan - 2011. "Where I come from, people are shot for committing treason."

And you don't even see the horde of savage Kushytes behind them.
"When I cannot stand alone, it will be time to die," he mumbled, through mashed lips. "But I'd like a flagon of wine."
