In CHEERS, Lilith talks to Rebecca about Frasier:
**The sex is good, but he pouts unless you compliment his performance. Fortunately his male ego can be satisfied with a simple...
" Thankyou, CONAN. " **

That is in CHEERS series 6, dvd disc 1,
episode 'The Crane Mutiny'
at 17mins and 15 secs + .
----

[ i have used that on some Conan fans. but over the years, i have complimented most of my lovers with...
" Thankyou, Tarzan. "
or
" Thankyou, Mr Bond. " ]
----

Any more 'Conan' quotes from tv shows, or elsewhere, please? :)

AVATARS GALORE
HYBORIAN Limericks + Rhymes
Lots of FUN and serious new RHYMING Hyborian/Fantasy poetry.

"So I took to a life of adventure and daring
leaving most warriors drooling and staring.
After I danced with my exotic flesh baring
I would vanish into the new Sunrise glaring."

I remember my oldest telling me that a 50 Cent song "Patiently Waiting"- a team up with Detroit's own Eminem - mentions Conan.

Goes like this:

"50 fear no man
Warrior!
Swings swords like Conan!"

There was that episode of "The Big Bang Theory" where the characters play the Age of Conan video game the whole episode. Tons of references to Howard and the locals in the Conan universe.

Thanks very much, that sounds fun.

i have enjoyed a few episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" that i have caught on tv. [ but the idiots of uk tv programming just seem to shove it on very late, at odd times, as filler now]

----

Awesome idea for a topic, Sorceress!

There was an episode of Buffy that managed to conflate Conan with Babe, of all things:

Andrew: Babe II: Pig in the City was really underrated.
Warren: Don't think about Babe.
Andrew: Right.
Warren: You're CONAN! You're THE DESTROYER! It's you against nature! You're the hunter! You're primal! You live off the land! You're... ANDREW! Everyone knows you! You play by your own rules! It's kill or be killed!
Andrew: THAT'LL DOOOO PIIIIGGG!

You may want to buy all seasons. It's funny 'cause it's true. ;)

Immortal Technique & Diabolical Freestyle Rap song :

" Harder Than Conan swingin a Sword "

Haha :D
Immortal Technique is a world famous undeground hardcore rapper. He is a fan apparently. I have listened to many of his songs and he has mentioned how cool, hard Conan is in 3-4 songs.

No Quarterby Led Zeppelin. I swear he gets a mention at the end during the fade out.
'why does he have to be a misfit? Why can't he be handsome and kind?'

'You're still a dreamer girl'.

Okay, here's a real oddity. In this past Wednesday's (June 24) JUDGE PARKER comic strip, the first panel shows teenage Sophie sitting in the library of her school talking with the principal -- and in the foreground is a guy holding a Conan book. I think this URL will get you to that strip: <http://www.seattlepi...?date=20090624> If not, do a Google search for Judge Parker -- the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's site should be one of the first to come up, and you can do a search for the June 24 strip. I would post that panel here, but after looking at Painbrush's detailed instructions on how to post pictures, it looks like too involved a procedure for me.

Money and muscle, that's what I want; to be able to do any damned thing I want and get away with it. Money won't do that altogether, because if a man is a weakling, all the money in the world won't enable him to soak an enemy himself; on the other hand, unless he has money he may not be able to get away with it.

In the Movie Tango & Cash Stallone tells one of the muscle-bound prisoners, "I loved you in Conan the Barbarian!" (about 40 sec. into the following clip)
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

And of course the "Conan the Librarian" scene from the "Weird Al" flick UHF.

The same "Conan the Librarian" joke is mirrored in this Mother Goose & Grimm comic strip.

Check it out on YouTube, thundarr. Funny stuff.
A wild moon rode in the wild white clouds,
the waves their white crests showed
When Solomon Kane went forth again,
and no man knew his road.

The CtB parody in this issue of Crazy Magazine was pretty funny & actually really well drawn. I'll have to track down a new copy one of these days.

There's some goofy show (on VH1 I believe it was ?) sort of a 'pop-culture'
"_ _ _ _ VERSUS _ _ _ _" show & in a match-up between Ahnold as the 'Terminator' , versus Ahnold as "Conan" , the group of comedian judges picked 'Terminator' as beating Conan . Big whoop-dee-doooo . I think the show is called 'Great Debate' (?)
