I would like to invite you to join a Robert E Howard e-mail Yahoo group I've
just set up.

This group is dedicated to the characters created by Robert E Howard that have appeared
in comic book form from Marvel Comics , Dark Horse Comics and Cross Plains
Comics .

Now with the launch of the new Conan Dark Horse series by Kurt Busiek , Cary
Nord and Dave Stewart a new dawn of seeing Robert E Howard's characters in
comic books may be on the horizon . Hopefully , if this is a success Kull ,
Solomon Kane etc. may return too .

Although I'm sure names such as DeCamp , Carter , Schwarzenegger , Milius
etc. may crop up at times I very much hope that more importantly members
will find the "real " Howard through his work that's now appearing through
Wandering Star , Del Rey , Wildside Press and Gollancz , as well as
magazines , articles etc. put out by those in Howard fandom.

Hi all , Lord Durham suggested I give an update on how TheREHcomics Group is going so here goes . I must admit the interest in the group has surprised me and I'd like to thank all those here for helping it along , we have over 500 members now and still growing.

To be honest I didn't know what to expect when I set it up last March . I hoped it would be a place for fans of the new Dark Horse Conan title to get to know more about Robert E Howard and his work rather than just consigning their copy of the comic into the long boxes , along with their super-hero stuff , and forgetting it until the next issue . I was aiming it therefore , initially , at the _comics_ fans by inviting people who posted their thoughts on the comics message boards such as Newsarama , Comicon , etc. From there it just grew with members joining from here , the Dark Horse Board etc. adding another aspect to the community those that already knew about Howard and Conan .

The group I believe fills the gap between the Conan boards and the more Howard orientated Yahoo groups such as Innercircle and Beyond The Black River , a sort of REHLite where we could get together and discuss things without getting _too_heavy.

So what has the group got to offer anyone here ? Well it's based around all Howard's characters , not just Conan , although I know other stuff comes up here too . But we've also now attracted Howard experts from the other groups I mentioned into the community hoping to pass on their knowledge . So if there's any questions that are asked there's usually someone able to answer . A number of them are involved with putting the Wandering Star books together plus the editor of the Wildside books is on board , as well as some involved with fan publications .

There's comics pros. too , some involved with Howard's characters in the comics , along with a number who are there _just_as fans . I hope to entice a few more on board as I go along to relate their experiences with Howard's characters . I also keep in touch with Roy Thomas off-group who's been happy to answer some questions too.

For your information comics discussion recently has included , as well as the DH books of course , Bernie Wrightson , Rudy Nebres , John Bolton's missing Red Sonja strip . Non-comics stuff such as the Lancer vs. Sphere books , Frank Frazetta , the Del Rey Bran book , the books in Howard's library etc.

Finally one or two of us scour the net keeping tabs on what's happening in Howard publishing , toys , games , convention appearances etc and every couple of weeks I put out a Bulletin with what's coming up , so even if your not interested in chatting it's worth joining just for that . Oh and of course we have the rarely seen Conan newspaper strip appearing every week .

So I hope , even if your not a comics fan , you'll find something of interest there.

Hi. We recently got a decent comic book in this new town I am in and the first thing I picked up was volume 1 of the Conan Chronicles. Then I went back this week to find Savage Sword of Conan volumes 1 & 2. I am amazed to see such great stories that I grew up with being brought back.

I just joined this forum and the Yahoo group today. Look forward to talking to other fans.

Welcome to the forum, Charlie. Plenty of cool discussions about Conan in the comics on this board. The Solomon Kane and Kull boards have their own threads for their respective comics series.

REH Comics Group now also on Facebook !

Don't worry the group isn't going away but for those of you on Facebook I
thought I'd set up a page there too but whereas the REH Yahoo group is happy to discuss
all aspects of the work of REH and others of his ilk in all areas of the media I
will only be posting comics related news past and present there.

Although a hard core still post there I know that perhaps Yahoo Groups are
considered "old hat" by others or perhaps the range of REH topics doesn't appeal

Hey guys I didn't know where else to post this and I have read a few Conan comics but not many. While looking online i found that you can read two Conan digital comics and a Kull comic on the Dark Horse website. Off topic a little, but there is also a interesting "The Thing" comic that involves vikings.

Thanks for posting...Read the Conan,Kull and Solomon Kane,I am definitely Interested in reading more,I have a few of Dark Horse's Conan books.God in a Bowl and Frost Giants Daughter.I'll be buying more for sure.I'm a fan of the paperbacks.
