Post images of people who are fit, and are (or are near) six feet tall and 180 pounds (as Howard indicated Conan was, at (or near) age fifteen, at the sack of Venarium).

I don't know that this thread can serve any useful purpose The man you just posted a picture of is fully grown, and we know that Conan was not fully grown when he was this size.

Yes, I suspect that Conan had more growing to do than the average fifteen year old.

Certainly, a 180 lb, 6' 0" fifteen-year old would be ideal. However, if a guy is that size (fit), I can imagine him as a fifteen year old -- a capability of the imagination being the combining of various properties.

[Edit] Also, a fifteen-year old Conan is still Conan; so the fact that a guy isn't the size of an adult Conan doesn't necessarily invalidate interest in the fact that he's about the size of the Venarium Conan.

This guy has the build I would imagine for Solomon Kane.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!" - Conan, in "Shadows in Zamboula", by Robert E. Howard
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

6' 1", 188 lb is proportionate to 6', 180 lb.

Rafael Nadal fits the bill.

Ironhand, how tall do you imagine Kane?

I never thought about it.

Most of these photographs I'm seeing look too skinny or smooth to me. Not like Conan. My personal mind's-eye vision of Conan has a physique exactly like Mike Tyson, both for degree of massiveness and for degree of muscular definition.

I think we may be looking at the wrong area for images.
Athletes in training are well fed, meticulously cared for physical machines. Look at photos of soldiers returning from war, particularly long, drawn out war. I saw a photo of my grandfather at the beach in 1946, shortly after he returned from Europe. He was six foot and just barely a hundred and eighty pounds, down from two hundred and twenty before leaving for England in 1942. (I don't have the photo, not scanned digital, Aunt not speaking to my side of family now) The quality of physique is as impressive but very different from track athletes or football players. Harder, thinner in the middle, bigger in the shoulders and forearms. Different.

nadal is 6'3. just to add, but i will say one thing about conan he would be swinging swords and axes, so a tennis player wouldnt be that far off. nadal though lately has slimmed down if you guys watch tennis at all. but i think at 6 foot and would build muscle like a young conan would be non other than the most Bad A climber CHRIS SHARMA!
Posted ImagePosted Image

also another tennis player who comes to my mind when i think of conan is the greatest Roger Federer. something about his face makes me think conan.
Posted ImagePosted Image
i imagine conan ripped, but what would really be ripped would be his forearms from swinging swords and axes and climbing, and everything else his hands have to do.

I am a Sharma fan as well. He's doing something very scary in those pics. At least he's on-rope.

Hi, Wolf

Thanks for the post. Just yesterday I was wondering if there were good climber images out there (Cimmerians being famous for their climbing abilities).

Ironhand, got any pics of Tyson when he was near fifteen?

Nope. I guess you can google him and look for picture albums. Offrope rock climbing would certainly build Conan's grip strength and forearm muscles. Plus all his other muscles and especially his core muscles.

Apparently he was 185 age 15, I think he's only 5'10" though.
