Apparently that 'buggieness' is universal . I had the same prob.'s/confusion when I was playing around with my avatar pick a few weeks ago . & just now reading all the above posts - I was still getting the old avatars like for Ironhands Av-pic it was still showing as the Boris painting of older Conan with a beard from the cover of the old Lancer/Ace/Sphere "Conan of Aquilonia" paperback , until I refreshed the entire page , then the new avatar showed fine . Guess we'll all prob. have to keep refreshing pages to see anybodies new avatars , or maybe just dump out all the old cookie files/Temp. Internet folder .

Hahaheehe , that did give me a good laugh ! That's Conan , not me . I'm much more handsome tho sometimes I might look that mean before I have my morning coffee .

Just gave my bird a good belly-laugh too when I called her over & showed her your post . She said , nah - I'm not that ugly - I look closer to a younger Gerard Depardieu . what a smartass ( she must mean because of my Norman nose ! ) Thank you both for a momentary question of self-esteem hah .

Looking at the avatars our resident sorceress posted of the sculpture of Frazettas 'Barbarian' made me just think of something that's kind of been at the back of my mind for a bunch of years whenever I see that painting ( & the sculpture of it ) , compare Frazettas self-portrait from a few years earlier when he was P.O.'ed at the then-current lack of interest in his "old-style" comic illustrations ( right after he quit working for Al Capp on 'Lil Abner I think it was ? )
What do you all think ?..........

I always thought he based that image on Jack Palance. Maybe self image mixed with Palance.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner - I hadn't been back on this topic until just now . As for that Frazetta in a helmet idea - will do , as soon as I can . My mouse-clicker fingers are bandaged up w/stitches since last week . My stupid wolf-dog & I had a bit of a disagreement . You should see me - typing with my pinky-fingers hahahah , what a sad but hilarious nincompoop . It seems that when a wolf growls & snaps at you - you don't swat him on the nose like you do with a 'regular' household type canine (& I dare that "dog-whisperer" guy Cesar to try !! ).

No worries tho , I'm still the alpha male in this house ( for now ) but he keeps eye-balling me & licking his chompers . If he decides to make a play for top-dog ranking anytime soon , I might not even be able to pinky-type for a while . heehee

As soon as I cut these half-dozen stitches out in a few more days & get back a bit o' the old dexterity in my mits I'll try my hand at that Frazetta in a helm idea , & a few more ideas I have about Conans ugly mug .
