AVATARS GALORE
HYBORIAN Limericks + Rhymes
Lots of FUN and serious new RHYMING Hyborian/Fantasy poetry.

leaving most warriors drooling and staring.
After I danced with my exotic flesh baring
I would vanish into the new Sunrise glaring."

for Updated info/help with changing your avatar/photo.

>> NB. most of the info in this post below here is now out of date.
the forum software has been upgraded again.
*****************
.
there is a 'bug' which occurs when you try to change your avatar.
here is how to solve it [ cure it ]...
[ step by step ]

> in your CHANGE AVATAR menu

UPLOAD a new image from your computer:
> BROWSE < [ select the image file from your pc picture folders ]

then click on > SAVE CHANGES < [ near bottom of page ]

then a message saying " SETTINGS SAVED " will appear near the top of the page.

BUT, IF 'Your Current Avatar' image has NOT changed to your new one, yet,
then click the > REFRESH < button on your internet Browser window.

after REFRESHING the window/screen, your new Avatar should show up OK now.
[ if not, try Refreshing again ? ]

[ also, if your new avatar appears blurred? then Refreshing should solve it. ]

[ BTW, i even tried > REMOVE MY AVATAR < first [which removed it]
BUT the weird bug still occured when i uploaded a new avatar: my old avatar appeared on screen instead !
but then REFRESHING the screen solved it ok. ]
[ I am using windows Internet Explorer browser ]

Hope this helps to make changing your avatar much easier?

>> Always REFRESH window if you have any problems with images not showing properly.

Have fun with your much bigger new Avatars ! Posted Image
****
the 120x120 images look great, and add much more impact and colour to the forum pages.
Members can be even more proud of their larger special Avatars now.

hopefully we will soon see lots of bigger avatars sparkling across the forums: I always love to see the creativity and wide range of great art edited and used by my fellow REH fans.
[ and I will probably try on a few new 'magical masks' myself in forthcoming weeks...? ]

I know that we have many talented members [ PC veterans - like myself ] here who are expert in EDITING and creating Avatars.
So, perhaps we can HELP any members who are not familiar with Picture Editing [ cropping & re-sizing, etc...] ?

ANY REQUESTS ?

So, post any polite Requests in here:
try to post the Original picture [pic] here [ or a link to it, or a detailed description of it ]

State exactly which PART you want as your Edited avatar:
[ here are some most popular parts as a guide and examples...

" the Head and shoulders of the Warrior "

" the head, shoulders and chest "

" top half of body, including sword-arm " ]

> And don't forget to type the polite 'magic word'...
...' Please ' .
in your request.
[ it gets things done much quicker ]
--
ANSWERING a Request:

When someone has posted a Request for an Edited Avatar...
If YOU can and WILL Help them [ by editing the avatar for them ]
then PLEASE REPLY/post in here quick [ S.A.P. ], so that all we others KNOW WHO is helping them [ state it clearly in your reply ].
THIS is very IMPORTANT because we DO NOT want SEVERAL Helping members wasting time and effort on editing the SAME avatar !
--
WEARING your new Avatar:

When a kind member has MADE you your new Avatar
PLEASE do them the courtesy of USING that as your Avatar here [ for at least a few weeks ] ?
----
I hope we can help many members in future months and years? :)
Having a special big Avatar can make you more proud, and enhance your enjoyment of these forums [ and will entertain us all with samples of great art ].
--
So... any polite Requests for a special Avatar ?

Hi Bux, thanks for the avatars you sent me, but when I tried to use one, using the "Change Avatar" function, nothing happened, even though I refreshed the page. I did succeed in saving the avatars to "My Pictures", and when I used it as a new avatar, the field showed the path from my computer, but my avatar did not change (as you can see).

Always nice to see your avatar, Bux. :P I've updated mine as well! I want to square it off, but I'm offline at home right now and can only access from work. It's easy to link to an online avatar than upload from your hard drive, as you have to get the pixels right.

Hey, well done.
It looks great ! B)

and if you want a different avatar making in future months, just let me know?
best wishes from the most buxom editor *** :)

[ BTW, when i 1st saw your latest post, your avatar [av] was weird: it was your old 64 av blown up to 120 size and very blurred.
so i Refreshed my window and now i can see your big new av [ wielding the sword ] clearly, in all its glory. ]

Hi Mikey.
thanks for posting.
love your new avatar image.

BTW, if you are very busy, just post the original art and i will edit the 120x120 avatar for you.
happy to help.
----
> i'm just trying out my new 'serpent head' now.
i've always loved this piece of comic cover art, but the old small 64 avatars were too tiny to show it off clearly.

these big 120 avatars are fabulous: you can completely re-think your avatar choices now with this big size to display your chosen 'part of art'. B)
i am gradually going back thru my big pc art collections and finding great parts for big new avatars, which i could not consider for the old 64 versions.

best wishes *** :)

Thanks for the offer - my computer at home is disconnected at the moment, and the system at work is so lousy I can't even send PMs! If you could edit this image: http://www.nwi.net/~...ics/bran_01.jpg and send it to me at c_dex_wardNOSPAM@yahoo.co.uk (remove the NOSPAM obviously!) I'd be very thankful.

Love the new snaky look, btw, but I'm fed up with women who bite your head off... ;)

Apparently that 'buggieness' is universal . I had the same prob.'s/confusion when I was playing around with my avatar pick a few weeks ago . & just now reading all the above posts - I was still getting the old avatars like for Ironhands Av-pic it was still showing as the Boris painting of older Conan with a beard from the cover of the old Lancer/Ace/Sphere "Conan of Aquilonia" paperback , until I refreshed the entire page , then the new avatar showed fine . Guess we'll all prob. have to keep refreshing pages to see anybodies new avatars , or maybe just dump out all the old cookie files/Temp. Internet folder .

" You have a good point there,...put your helmet on & no-one will notice it ."
" Look for a long time at what pleases you... and longer still at what pains you "
So THIS is civilization ??!??!......
