Spiked cocpieces were readily available at the many "Zenobia's Secret" shops located in major cities throughout the Hyborian world.

isn't there a box set, comes with the cod piece, gloves, english saddle, and a mouth apple...should be out for Mithra's b-day, Dec 25th lol.

"Our basic purist premise:
ROBERT E. HOWARD, ENTIRELY ALONE, WITHOUT ASSISTANCE FROM ANY OTHER PERSON, CREATED THE CHARACTER CONAN OF CIMMERIA. NO OTHER PERSON OR PERSONS SHOULD BE INTRUDING THEIR WORK INTO THE VOLUMES OF HOWARD'S CONAN STORIES.
In essence, we believe that the work of any creative artist -- writer, painter, illustrator, musician, what-have-you -- is a unique expression of an artistic point of view. It should not be appropriated or altered by others without the artist's consent. No other writer has Robert E. Howard's unique point of view, and no other writer knows what Howard would have done with his character had he lived. Upon his death, his canon, the expression of his artistic vision, became fixed. Tampering with it now is desecration."

Hallo again!

Here is another one. This one is much older as you can see. This time it was done with pencil on paper.
I was inspired by a Comic cover done by Barry Windsor Smith.
I never liked how he drew Conan, for me his Conan looked to soft and feminine so i drew my own version.
I hope you like it.

If you've "improved" since '03, you definitely need to be working professionally. This is awesome!

Really, really great! I like the first one more, but just because I like that stripped, greasy, savage and brutal look.
Have anyone notices how much his face on the first pic reminds of Vladimir Kulich's?

Very well pointed, Munthasem! :) This also makes remember Cimmerians were a pre-Gaelic people, not a pre-Germanic one; so that - though the "Pitfighter pic" is worderfully depicted - the pic at the post #22 is far closer, IMO, to REH's conception of Conan. Crom's Mercy is doing an wonderful work indeed! :D

Jiggy pics.

Even if none of 'em ever involved any such thang, was it never suggested in any ReH story that Conan had done sum pitfightin', doe?

I'm really not expecting to like, prove anyone wrong here, as much as I am bein' shut down, don't get me wrong... but I do feel like I've read or heard a referance to Conan gladiatin', other than from CtB.

Could be from anywhere, doe.
Little by little the bird builds its nest. Little by little we choke the Zembabwan rivers with their dead. We are the destroyers turning the sanguine wheel of the world, and we eat fear! Long will be the day when Samun of Mimbenge gives his life to their wretched spears!

The drawing is very well executed, especially if done 100% in photoshop. The face is fantastic, nice and dark, lots of scars etc. The upper body is well rendered, but to me the arms look totally out of proportion to the rest. His biceps and triceps just seem too big for his chest IMO.

The codpiece slightly disturbs me.

I prefer the second pic.

The Great Frank Frazetta is dead.
For me he was the greatest artist and a big inspiration.
To honor him i made this drawing right from my head and with traditional media.
I want to thank Frank Frazetta for his great art and inspiration.
May he rest in peace.

Great! I really like that dark heavy style. It's almost Sin City like here and is very atmospheric. That's what I'd like to see and feel in a Conan movie. By Crom's grumpy noggin and Odin's windblowed beard, give that movie at least the feeling, an atmosphere and strength Conan deserves !
