And it looks like it will have a lot of sex and violence. Who would have imagined?
(Thanks, Kortoso. One of these days I'm going to learn how to do that.)

Also on YouTube is a panel from ComiCon with the principal actors and Steven DeKnight, the head writer. The discussion turns to the problems DeKnight had with Starz over his first script and the difficulty the Starz people had with the language, which they considered too Shakespearean. DeKnight says at 17:58 : "I tried to strike the perfect balance between Shakespeare and Robert E. Howard."
Pretty cool.

Wow! That trailer is excellent, I'm really looking forward to the new series. I was dubious about Spartacus being recast, but Liam McIntyre looks like he's going to do a cracking job. Roll on 2012!

Looking forward to this, but I'm a little sad because I know how it's going to end for Spartacus and Crixus.

I dont care how it ends im more sad about seeing the first season of Spartacus again and again Whitfield who was so good in the role. It feels like story, film without an end when some other guy is gonna finish his role.

that's huge.

in the same vein, one thing desperately lacking in the CtB2011 movie was the inclusion of actual languages. For some reason, any kind of foreign language especially when made up instantly gives the production a sheen of reality and grit. would have been awesome to hear conan speak shemitish with a barbarous accent to his buddy, and have subtitles in a few scenes. worked to tremendous effect in GoT.

Just read on Facebook that Andy Whitfield just died of Lymphoma. :(

Let us drink to his shade.
"It is more than a mortal sea. Your hands are red with blood and you follow a red sea-path, yet the fault is not wholly with you. Almighty God, when will the reign of blood cease?"

Turlogh shook his head. "Not so long as the race lasts."

I just heard the news on the radio, extremely sad. A soul taken far too early.

I saw just ONE TV-series with him and he has already become one of my favourite actors.
I'll always remember him for his great work on SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND.
