Is there such a thing as Conan NOT in action?? hehehe NoI know what you mean. The eternal "preparing for battle" pose as been done a million times. I have another "druken" Conan somewhere from 2006 about. Well its more like king Conan upon his throne, looking kinda grim and thoughtful like in the end credits of Conan the barbarian movie. . I will try to find it in my countless papers.

Oh and just in case anyone asks why the second artwrk is signed "Wodansson 2257", well Wodansson is my name and 2257 is the year 2007 in the runic calendar. Teh christian calendar is actually in 2010(although they are 4 years late) but the Rnic calendar of the pre-christian heathen nordic tribes is actually 250 years older. In case anyone cares....

Awesome! My favorite of what you have shown - full of menace!

"Roll on me like a flood, now, if ye dare! Before your viper fangs drink my life I will reap your multitudes like ripened barley - of your severed heads will I build a tower and of your mangled corpses will I rear up a wall!" - Bran Mak Morn in "Worms of the Earth"

this may sound strange, but I think you tapped into something which made the drinking Conan come alive as a drawing, much moreso than the other ones. there's more feeling and expression.
"I live, I BURN WITH LIFE, I love, I slay, and am content."
"Here's to brother Painbrush, we drink to his Shade..."
"All Art Is Martial"- RZA

"Our basic purist premise:
ROBERT E. HOWARD, ENTIRELY ALONE, WITHOUT ASSISTANCE FROM ANY OTHER PERSON, CREATED THE CHARACTER CONAN OF CIMMERIA. NO OTHER PERSON OR PERSONS SHOULD BE INTRUDING THEIR WORK INTO THE VOLUMES OF HOWARD'S CONAN STORIES.
In essence, we believe that the work of any creative artist -- writer, painter, illustrator, musician, what-have-you -- is a unique expression of an artistic point of view. It should not be appropriated or altered by others without the artist's consent. No other writer has Robert E. Howard's unique point of view, and no other writer knows what Howard would have done with his character had he lived. Upon his death, his canon, the expression of his artistic vision, became fixed. Tampering with it now is desecration."

Sometimes, its in the 5 min sketches that one conveys a feel of motion, reality and impression of life than in the many hours long endeavors. Thanks for the comments.

Aaah man... That's more like it!!

I don't have this Del Rey book, unfortunately. When you say inspired, do you mean from Gianni's drawings? or from the compilation title only?
I ordered Gianni's sketchbook but never received it.

Good work!

The DEL RAY. I liked the title and it inspired me to draw that. He kinda wonders if he should take the crown or keep on with his wandering across Hiborea. Well that's what I had in mind.

Who's Gianni???
