I got the impression from looking at the trailer that the whole Howard Days happening was something to be made fun of, a bunch of goofballs with no lives and nothing better to do. I wouldn't talk to them, but I'm known for being camera shy. I felt like they really hadn't done their homework coming into it...

Wanna take bets on that happening?

Just wanted to address some of these concerns. The film is looking great. I think everyone will be happy with it, and I hope that it will help spread the word of REH Days. We are not attempting to make the REH field the butt of any jokes; rather we are trying to tell a story about finding passion in life no matter where you may find it.
As for the funny hats, definitely not a specific nock on anyone in particular. The Texas sun is hot and brutal, and seemed like just about everyone had a different style of hat to keep it off them.
We tried getting in touch with Leo several times, but never heard back from him unfortunately.
Hopefully once we get the film completely finished, we can show some of you guys the film and get your feedback.
Please let us know if you have any other thoughts or concerns.

Based on my experience in front of your camera, I'm one of the worried ones. I like Paul's idea above. I live in LA County; what do you say? You give me a preview, I smooth everyone's feathers and help fill in any holes you might have.
Rob
And Paul: Even you were in REHupa for a minute.

Oh, it was months. And I've spoke my piece before about the humorous and rather gaping dichotomy between the public perception and the reality, so I shant bother repeating it again. I would note, back when I was there, it was a different group. No Amy, or Mark, or Chris, or Barbara, or Rob, or Frank, or Patrice, or Dennis. None of the Young Guns that work the place now. I of course don't see the current product, like pretty much everyone else, but I'd expect it would be a lot higher quality nowadays, with maybe a bit more focus on REH. I suppose like all long-term groups it goes through its highs and lows, and maybe I just caught it on a low spell.

We feel a little weird arranging a screening for you prior to screening it for our four main featured characters. That being said, if they are all ok with us screening it for you since it will be easier for you to see it due to your location, we'd be happy to set something up. Although we turned in a cut to Sundance, we do have quite a bit of work to do on it still before it is ready to screen for anyone though (sound design, animation, mix, color correction). So check with Rusty, Indy, Mark, and Chris and see if they are ok with us screening it for you, and we'll set something up as soon as we get a final, final cut ready. Sound good?

I am scared shitless off flying... sooo.. unless someone invents a teleporter OR Zeppelins start flying again - they do, but only small ones - (a transportation method I would agree too - helium all the way though) I will not be setting foot on American soil anytime soon.
I certainly would love to see the documentary as I am most likely never going to be at the location to meet many of you in person. Good luck with the last steps of the production!
Cheers,
Waldgeist
You never know you might , when my wife and I were IIRC there was a guy from Germany too.

I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic. These guys were everywhere. And they were so everywhere that they came back the next year and shot MORE B-reel footage. There's definitely a lot of coverage.

My only criticism so far is that I don't really think our hats are funny.

You know, the Pope wears a funny hat too.
