My impressions of REH's Thurian age Picts are that they could BOTH be the ancestors of (obviously) the Hyborian age and historic Picts, as well as a strain of the background of later Native Americans.
If the Sorbo Kull film had actually been based on Kull, I think Wes Studi would have make a great Brule. Earlier, Charles Bronson would have worked great too...
Bran is much tougher to envision, but I would have to be miraculously convinced not to cast an Irish actor for the role.

That's actually pretty good casting. He could do a big pict quite well, especially if he continued to put on a bit of mass (as picts were supposed to be so muscular); though I don't see him as BMM who struck me as more angular and a bit like some of the darker Irish types. One need not presume they're dark by straight genetics; they may just tan very easily and lead outdoor lives; as Conan did - stuck in the Underdark for a few years Conan would probably look like a black metal guitarist. I suspect something like that might be true of the Picts.He'd make a better over-tall Pict than a Cimmerian, IMO.
