In WotE. Bit of a boob by REH there. If it was set near York, there are no fens around there, and I doubt ther ever were, because the countryside doesn't have the kind of conditions to support that kind of environment. Might have been different 2k years ago. Would anybody know abything about whether things were different there than?

Well, I'd say the very sorcerous nature of Dagon's Mere speaks for itself. Maybe the Worms had something to do with its disappearance from modern times, or the thing lurking in its waters...

My impression was that the Mere was further west (possibly in the Chester area). Also, there might be a connection with the Conrad and Kirowan fragment, "Dagon Moor".
