these pics are great. I wonder , has any artist sought to use Howards own face and poses as a base model when doing say conan art? some of them ( the wrestling one, arms folded and sipping the beer stick out in particular) really could shine as conan , kull or his celtic heroes.

Thanks to Darrell Schweitzer, we've got a much better scan of the Howard boxing Truett photo (found in AMRA editor George Scithers' effects), and, thanks to Glenn Lord's collection, we now know where that photo was taken: the Cisco Dam. Glenn's photo will be on the next REHF Newsletter's cover.
