Looks as though I will be able to do this animation on my laptop after all. For all those who are using Blender. in user preference, under system, if you scroll down to the bottom, there is a memory cache limit setting which is 128 default, I knew of this from previous Blends but you could only up it to 1024 and that was the ones that didn't let me do what I needed, system crashing and all but this new Blender let me turn it up to 32768 and so far so good. I don't have the original file that was crashing the system but I can move forward with the animation and just enjoy doing my art. I will still need to hire talent score and sound design but with the ability to work and the help of CromsBlood on the rendering, I may be able to pull this animation off.

Hmm, I thought you would have found that out, it is fantastic extra help though it still may crash during rendering as the brothers does though he is using win 7 32Bit, I am using 64bit version and it uses more memory (more than 4GB) and renders faster and better in HD etc. Win 32bit is crap for Blendering in nowadays, so consider going 64bit if you can.

I am 64bit with 8GB ram but I will most likely up it to 16 using a macbook pro. I am also talking with someone that might be able to bring the other mac back to life. if he can then I can let that thing render as it is a dual quad core with 8GB of ram as well but that one is not a 64bit machine.
I did know of that extra but I when I moved it before, it went to 1024 and no further. when I was upgrading to the next build of Blender, it said that it was moving my settings but I was taking a tutorial the other day that reminded me of this setting and when I checked it. it was back to 128 so you can imagine my surprise when it didn't stop at 1024 but kept climbing ![]()

I like the sword and the facial hair. Are u going for leather bottoms or the leather skirt or fur look?
I like the armoured leather skirt look as it suits the barbarian style etc for me.

I can do a leather armored skirt, since this is just for a test animation, I will set that up ![]()

something like this?
Too Roman looking, but cool all the same. Was thinking more down the lines of the Moongoose game leather skirt, like this below. Though some think it is not practicle for the horse etc, which seems plausible. ![]()
