"'If the youth Balthus and old Slasher hadn't held them up awhile, they'd have butchered every woman and child in Conajohara. I passed the place where Balthus and the dog made their last stand. They were lying amid a heap of dead Picts - I counted seven, brained by his axe, or disembowelled by the dog's fangs, and there were others in the road with arrows sticking in them. Gods, what a fight that must have been.'
'He was a man,' said Conan. 'I'll drink to his shade, and to the shade of the dog who knew no fear.' He quaffed part of the wine, the emptied the rest upon the floor, with a curious heathen gesture, and smashed the goblet. 'The heads of ten Picts shall pay for his, and seven heads for the dog, who was a better warrior than many a man.'" - Beyond the Black River

Pencil sketch
"The shipmaster was a good judge of men. One glance at the dark scarred face of the swordsman, hardened with passion, and he shouted a quick order, thrusting strongly against the piles." -Queen of the Black Coast
"He saw a tall powerfully built figure in a black scale-mail hauberk, burnished greaves and a blue-steel helmet from which jutted bull's horns highly polished. From the mailed shoulders fell the scarlet cloak, blowing in the sea-wind. A broad shagreen belt with a golden buckle held the scabbard of the broadsword he bore. Under the horned helmet a square cut black mane contrasted with smoldering blue eyes." -Queen of the Black Coast
"His horned helmet was such as was worn by the golden-haired Æsir of Nordheim; his hauberk and greaves were of the finest workmanship of Koth; the fine ring-mail which sheathed his arms and legs was of Nemedia; the blade at his girdle was a great Aquilonian broadsword; and his gorgeous scarlet cloak could have been spun nowhere but in Ophir." -Queen of the Black Coast.

Indeed there is, I'll add it. Thanks.

Wow Trent, absolutely amazing. I can't say enough how cool I think your map is. I love the lion and the compass design. I like the simplicity contrasted with amazing detail and rendering. Well done man. That is something to be proud of! I'll add a quicklink for it at the beginning of the thread.
I can't wait to see your other project as well.
Totally agree.
BTW, AtL, you should get an honorary commission in the Cimmerian's royal guard for all of this incredibly hard work you've done, solely out of love for Howard's creation. An excellent resource.

"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

Just giving credit where it's due.
BTW, I put "Amra" in the thread title cuz we have SEVERAL other topics with "Chronicles of Conan" as titles. Just trying to minimize confusion.

Trent from Brooklyn, you have been assigned as the royal cartographer of the Hyborian Age.
You're too kind.
I arrived at my birthday party and my twin brother Amra_The_Lion, presents your stunning map to me. I was astounded by how incredible it looks, easily the best map of Conan's world to date. What a tremendous gift from both of you. I will hang it with pride in the War Room.
Very cool of Amra. I wished I could see the look on your face when you got it.
Your map will inspire a new generation of Conan followers methinks.
Maybe even more than just a map...
A splendid job Trent, truly you deserve high praise for a job well rendered.
Thanks for all the really kind words Grim. I hope it will hang proud in your War Room.
