One has to wonder if it wasn't for the law suite, weather MOTU would've remained more dark and gritty. The Prince Adam/He-man thing was as early as 1982 with the DC comics mini series.

I misunderstood you when you said mini series I thought you meant the mini-comics and didn't realize that you were referring to a DC limited run. I stand corrected and feel bad for He-Man fans everywhere. Did Adam have the pink and purple Filmation outfit or the one in the mini comics?
Although the 3 issue DC Masters of the Universe series started in December of 1982 with To Tempt the Gods! issue #1 and the DC Comics presents #47 featuring Superman and the Masters of the Universe was in July of 1982, I'll bet that Filmation was already in production prior to the first airing on October 1983 and that these comics are influenced by it.

I don't know if it started with this figure. But I've always seen this as one of the major causes for people to aquate Aquliona with the Roman Empire.slightly of topic but i just love that figure of palantides
