Conrad has left a great deal of Howard depictions in his time, and most of them have been top class. His use of the greys and tones add so much to his drawings that sometimes are strangely weird at times.

This would be a great back tatoo

Great piece, KG. I`ve always considered Steban Maroto to be a hell of an artist. Wished he had the opportunity to illustrate a whole Conan story in the old days of Savage Sword of Conan. His detailed and very rich line asks for a black and white adaptation.

Stunning indeed.

i'd go out on a bit of a limb here and say that the newer artists seem to lack some of the traditional training the old school set had.

I tend to agree, it is more digital now and is in away making them less willing to use a brush rather than a digital brush etc. Though they would have greater range and skills in CGI and other medians than the traditional artist that sticks to paper imo.

By Yannis coloured by Billy MacDog, frigging love this considering some of the artists Wood's chose in QotBC.

even though this has several elements I normally dislike, the quality of this drawing is simply exquisite.

This is a beautiful, moody and sensible piece. It shows Conan in a different style, very charming, I think. I don`t find anything wrong with his bearings, which are so cool. Maybe Conan showing his gigantic melancolic side, during his early 20`s?
It may be odd, but this picture reminded me of a young Conan, 18 or 19 years old, wearing some fashionable hyborean clothes!
It also reminds me of Barry Smith, Zuniga way.
