Hello all. Im a long time pulp fiction fan, being raised by my dad on reruns of the Shadow radio show, and old Tarzan books. I never got into Conan though. I was at an estate sale two weekends ago and they had a stack of Savage Sword of Conan. I bought the lot fot 100 bucks, and it turned out to be a complete set, numbers 1 through 235 (with a handfull of duplicates. rather than sell them, i think i am going to keep them.

Now there are two things that i am also going to do. I am going to get the three books of origonal Howards stories and read them, using the comics to suppliment the stories. But the other thing i want to do i to read them in Chronological order, not order pubished. I think i would enjoy the character more from watching him grow.

Is there a read order of the Howard stories, and also a read order of the Savage Sword books, that i could overlay together? Has someone already done somethng like this?

Thanks
Dhatman.

"Our basic purist premise:
ROBERT E. HOWARD, ENTIRELY ALONE, WITHOUT ASSISTANCE FROM ANY OTHER PERSON, CREATED THE CHARACTER CONAN OF CIMMERIA. NO OTHER PERSON OR PERSONS SHOULD BE INTRUDING THEIR WORK INTO THE VOLUMES OF HOWARD'S CONAN STORIES.
In essence, we believe that the work of any creative artist -- writer, painter, illustrator, musician, what-have-you -- is a unique expression of an artistic point of view. It should not be appropriated or altered by others without the artist's consent. No other writer has Robert E. Howard's unique point of view, and no other writer knows what Howard would have done with his character had he lived. Upon his death, his canon, the expression of his artistic vision, became fixed. Tampering with it now is desecration."
