Came across a book on the shelves of the local public library, with a mammoth besieged by wolves and prehistoric hunters on the front cover.
Its Dian of the Lost Land by Edison Marshall, an adventure with a lost race in the Antarctic. Being a devoted fan of that genre, whether by Burroughs, Haggard, Merritt, or Howard this one looks like lots of fun.
Anyone else read it? Marshall appears to have written a lot of historical fiction. Might have to find more.
The book was dated 1966, but there was a copyright date of 1930-35, so can assume once appeared in a pulp mag.

I have it in paperback. As far as I can find, there was no pulp publication preceding the book publication. It was later reprinted in cut form in FAMOUS FANTASTIC MYSTERIES. John Taine was another who had some lost race novels out in hardback with no pulp publication.
