This is great. Looks professionally done and a lot of fun. I have never made it to Cross Plains, but I do not intend to die without seeing it. I can't wait to get a look at the places and some of the Conan scholars I have heard so much about since joining the forum. I'll buy it. Where do I sign up?
A wild moon rode in the wild white clouds,
the waves their white crests showed
When Solomon Kane went forth again,
and no man knew his road.

I really like the aesthetics. "Conan the Barbarian" bugs me a bit, but I realize that's how the Cimmerian is known in the broader popular culture. It's only the context of a trailer, so maybe this is dealt with in the film, but I was kinda bummed to see hints of defensiveness about the whole "geek" thing. Far as I'm concerned, it's the geeks who have all the fun. Clearly.
Anyway, it looks really, really well put together and I look forward to seeing the whole thing. And boy does it make me want to hit the trail for Cross Plains next year. I know, Deuce, I know!

some people need to learn to except their own geekdom! will there be lotus?
Under the caverned pyramids great Set coils asleep;
Among the shadows of the tombs his dusky people creep.
I speak the Word from the hidden gulfs that never knew the sun
Send me a servant for my hate, oh scaled and shining One!

It kills me that I can't do this stuff any more. As for Barbarian Days, I already spent my vacation money this year.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!" - Conan, in "Shadows in Zamboula", by Robert E. Howard
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard
Read my Conan screenplays at The Scrolls of Ironhand (in particular my transcription of THE FROST GIANT'S DAUGHTER in Act II of "The Snow Devil") at

I'll be glad to review it for you, but remember these are my friends, and I'll tell you what I really think. Don't know if that is really what you're looking for.

The film has made the short list at several festivals and the film will be made available to a select few scholars in the coming weeks. Keep a look out for their reviews online.
