conan.no was hacked, but has been repaired, and is again going strong.

I don't post over there anymore; too many ad hominem attacks, just not very friendly.

Hello all.

I heard of REH through HP Lovecraft and I like what I've heard so far. Anyone have suggestions on a volume of original REH stories I can buy? I've read a couple pastiches, but from what I've read of REH, the originals are worth getting so any advice would be appreciated.

Also, anyone ever hear of Imaro? I heard of Imaro through a Conan site I saw somewhere. I ended up ordering Imaro I and III and finished number I. Anyone else read these? I personally enjoyed it tons.

Thanks for the help,

-VE

Thanks Castellon. I appreciate the help. So noone in here has read Imaro?

This is the site that introduced me to Imaro and led me to purchase the Imaro novels. Do yourselves a favor and check it out.

I've only known the character from the website that you provided. If any one knows if these books are still in print, or a location where they can be purchased. please PM me so that I can add them to my collection.

Castellon: Thanks for the link. I'm now thinking of ordering the conan chronicles from amazon.co.uk or buying the Coming of Conan of Cimmeria when it comes out.. Still stuck between the two options though.. <_<

Orkin: My Name is merely a combination of two words I found cool. Vorago- which is a pit, and Excarnator- one who excarnates. Excarnate- to deprive or clear of flesh ( the opposite of incarnate) So taken together I'm a pit dweller which divests unwelcome intruders of their flesh very much in the spirit of a Hyborian monster if I'm not mistaken. :P

Kane: I think the Imaro books are out of print but if you are not averse to using amazon.com or amazon.co.uk or amazon.whatever.. you can get them on the cheap from there. Mine were under $10.. and I think I saw a copy for a mere $4 (American).

Lord Durham: Glad you agree with me.. :)

red nails: I reccomend getting the books from Amazon.com or a similar site since as far as I know they are out of print. I reccomend starting with the first, simply because the series goes in chronological order of Imaro's life. I get the impression, however, that the seperate chapters in the book where originally seperate short stories and were published independently from the chronology of Imaro's life. The stories don't suffer if you read them out of order, I read books I and III and skipped book II and I'm enjoying III immensely. I need to get II sometime soon though, so here's hoping..

That's all for now, thanks for the hearty response

I had a friend tell me about this site recently and it looks cool. I have been a conan fan for about 18 years. I started reading the comic books back in middle school and it just kinda snowballed from there. Can anyone tell me when dark horse will release the new comic book? I look forward to posting here in the future. thanks :D

Welcome. Glad to hear that you like the forum and plan on being a regular here.

The new Conan comic should be hitting the market in either January or Febuary of 2004. For those who cannot wait that long a preveiw issue will be released in November.

Hi.
I'm Thoom.
I have been reading from REH regurgitated work (Conan) comicbooks since I was 6, and read my first Conan paper-back when I was 11, and have been captivated ever since
by REH's story telling. That is positively vibrant with life.

To whom it may concern,
A fond thanks for the gift.

I agree with you Thoom. I discovered REH and Conan in the late '60s and early '70s when in Junior high and I also have been captivated ever since.

What? You discovered Conan before the movie? I thought that was supposed to be impossible! ;)
