I dunno. Hollywood hasn't done a great job on REH's well-established characters, I'd really hate to see what they would do to the setting. I mean, beyond the obvious crap like Aquiromans and easily-slaughtered Cimmerians.

There's plenty of Conan stories to tell, no need to try to come up with something "original" since it's rarely ever that anyway.

I mean exactly what i say. I dont want to see the hyborian age without conan as it's star.imho conan and the hyborian age go hand in hand and need each other.Like most others I want to see ( which isnt gonna happen now anyway) some sort of adaptation of the original stories,before I see an original story again(though i did like the last movie).None of this expanded hyboria™ universe with other characters,akin to what has been done to star wars, cheapened and whored out at least by its own creator,lol.and again just my opinion.is that answer sufficient?

I suppose. You DO know that the majority of the "James Allison" yarns are set in the Hyborian Age or immediately after? Robert E. Howard said so. Conan doesn't have a headlock on the Hyborian Age in REH's writings

BTW, I don't buy into Hyboria™ either. .

lol,if it comes from howard, thats fine.I've gone through alot of reh the last year or so,rereading conan kull kane and morn ,onto others but i'havent gotten to the james allison stories yetas far as hyboria™lol,I didnt think you did either, based on the posts ive read of yours, which i do enjoy btw

Well. I think I'd tend to see a film set in the Hyborian age, unless I heard it was a stinker. Put it this way, if it's 4/10 or higher and Hyborian, I'd probably see it in a cinema; 3/10, I'd rent it.

I'd read novels and shorts but I don't think a movie setting would matter. 9/10 chances the setting would get "changed" into a stock fantasy world, anyway.

I suppose I wouldn't mind too much, but I'd much rather see a faithful Conan movie first.

There has been a few books released set in Hyboria in Conan's time. I bought it for the daughter recently who is an AoC fan called Anok, Heretic of Stygia Vol 1-3, by Stephen York who I think did some Spartacus and Star Trek episodes.

I enjoyed the books, but took a while to read them and take seriously tbh. Felt like reading a WOW book or something.....but enjoyable all the same.
