Hi,

I'm not sure where the best place to post this would be, but this seemed as good a place as any...

I never got to be a Professor of Literature, couldn't afford my MA let alone PHD so I've decide to flex my academic muscles on the Conan stories.

I just started my Quotable Conan blog. Essentially as I work through the Conan stories I am posting and labeling quotes on various topics, many of interest to anyone who might be studying the stories in an academic context, and many that would be of interest to people who like funny death threats.

Right now I'm on my first pass through the stories, popping up any interesting quotes I find. Second pass through I'll hopefully make things a bit more ordered, and even start posting some essays or commentary.


What I'm after though right now, is some art to spruce it up.


Are there any artists on the sight who would let me post some of their Conan related work in exchange for links back to their own site?

Mutual promotion essentially.

Traffic so far is minimal, nearly a month in it's had getting on for 600 views, but it has been rising steadily since launch.

Some really cool work there, Bubba. Nice action/dynamics and that '70s feel that I love. SOMEBODY needs to use your work.

Thanks deuce, that gallery represents about 15% of my work. As you can see my "style" has jumped around a bit, My biggest influence has been an obscure, rarely immitated, fantasy artist named Frank Frazetta.I kept all my rejection letters from Dark Horse in the 90's telling me that my style was dated (70's) and that sword and sorcery comics were dead .........I still wish I could do just one Conan cover,just one.

Glad you like it, there's loads of cool and really fun stuff in their.

I've been really happy and surprised at how many artists have offered up work so much appreciated.

I'm taking a brief break from the blog while I finish the Game of Thrones books, but I'll be posting again in a month or two when I make my second pass through the complete works when it's time to look at topics like Women and Race in the stories.
