So earlier today i was asked by a freinds son if anyone on here including me actually worshipped any of the Hyborian Age deities form Mr.Howards yarns.

So I thought i'd get your replies so i could give him an educated answer on if any of you do.

As to my answer I told him while I don't the thought had occured to me.

One doesn't have to believe in a literal metaphysical deity to show worship to it. I mean, that might almost detract from the point of the concept. I pretty well worship Superman and Thanos, though I know both of them were just made up by some pulp writers for quick cash they're just too good as Jungian Archetypes and mythos not to love.

I like Crom in his mountain a lot; he's a good god - he gives you a brain and a right arm and minds his own business.

Worship, no, as I'm an atheist, but I do often curse using things like 'Crom!', 'Hanneman's stones!' 'Derketo's teats!' It can get some odd looks...

It is not wise to worship Crom. "Better to be silent than to call his attention to you; he will send you dooms, not fortune!"

I occasionally use "Crom!" as an expletive though I'm as likely to say something like "By Odin's Beard!" or "A thousand thunders!"
