could be interesting a post in the line of those about authors or genres and subgenres, about modern horror fiction meaning modern since the 70's or so, here the people on this forum talk about HP Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith... maybe about Stephen King but not about authors like T.E.D. Klein, Robert R McCammon, Charles L Grant, Dennis Etchison, Graham Masterton or more modern like Thomas Ligotti, Brian Keene, Jack ketchum, Bentley Little... here we could talk about the horror books we have read or ask for suggestions...

for example I wnat to ask you about Laird Barron, do you know him? his fiction is a kind of modern cthulhu mythos and he has two collections of stories The imago sequence and other stories and Occultation and a more recent novel The croning

Good topic idea, Ollonois. B)

I've read Klein, Ligotti and Masterton. I like 'em all. Barron looks interesting,

Nice of you to mention Charles L Grant. A very underrated writer who was hugely admired by other horror authors.

He was a prolific craftsman and he had an amazing gift for atmosphere and dread.

My favourite book of his has to be RAVEN.

I prefer his short fiction and his anthologies, the series of anthologies of quiet horror Shadows are very interesting for me but they weren't published in Spain, his novels on the other hand... I don't know, I read The sound of midnight and it was a bit dissappoint for me, but The pet are in the Stephen Jones-Kim Newman list of 100 best horror books, and have a very interesting plot
