Should Dark Horse be adapting the modern Conan Pastiches? Is it time for Dark Horse to release a graphic novel of Conan and the Grim Grey God, Conan and the Emerald Lotus, Conan the Valorous etc. Or do you feel this would put the Dark Horse creators in too much of a straight jacket, fettered to a story not of their own making?

Roy Thomas did it, and we read it and enjoyed it - Conan and the Sword of Skelos, Conan and the Sorcerer, Conan and the Isles to name a few. I for one would gladly read a graphic novel of JMR's work or Sean Moore's or John Hocking.

I hope they do, while they are making their own pastische to glue it together. But I would prefer that they adapt the original stories first.

I'd prefer them not to. There's a limited market out there as it is, so to "take up space", as it were, with a non-Howard adaptation would invariably take the place of something more Howard related (insert requisite jokes about the current series here). We're having enough issues getting the Howard stories done, better to concentrate on that first.

I'd rather see them do QotBC twice, than see a pastiche.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!" - Conan, in "Shadows in Zamboula", by Robert E. Howard
"... you speak of Venarium familiarly. Perhaps you were there?"
"I was," grunted [Conan]. "I was one of the horde that swarmed over the hills. I hadn't yet seen fifteen snows, but already my name was repeated about the council fires." - "Beyond the Black River", by Robert E. Howard

Read my Conan screenplays at The Scrolls of Ironhand (in particular my transcription of THE FROST GIANT'S DAUGHTER in Act II of "The Snow Devil") at

I'd rather see them reboot QotBC right about now...

Wouldn't it be great to see a Truman/Giorello version of QotBC after the crap that has been thrown at us?

Count me as a vote against any more pastiches in the comics until the REAL RIGHT THING (REH) is fully adapted.

I'd like them to adapt it PERIOD.
