I love that show(but don't mention the crappy movie of it to any real Dukes fans), have all the DVDS.
Great music.Bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley was there despite battling health problems at 85.He still managed a fine acappela version of "Oh Death" (from O Brother Where Art Thou?) .He has been performing since 1946- the year before I was born. He of course worked with his brother Carter as the Stanley Brothers until 1966 when Carter died of complications due to alcoholism.
Other great music, more bluegrass, country, country rock, and a performance by Sonny Burgess and the Pacers, a Sun Records rockabilly group from back in the 50s. Also Sleepy Labeef, Stella Parton, some fine gospel singing on Sunday morning. And Cooter does some fine singing himself with his Garage Band.
And all living members of the cast were there, though I declined to stand in line in the sun for hours in search of autographs.
The event was held on land where Stonewall Jackson's troops camped in 1862-this whole area where I grew up is filled with Civil War History. And there was a nice cavalry battle re-enactment.
Lots of fun, nice people, even ran into a high school classmate I had not seen in 50 years!
Any other Dukes fans(or bluegrass fans, or Civil War in Va buffs), hope you post.
