How it begins
In July 2012 I was on LARP convention where I saw a guy who was looking like Conan from comic books. At the moment I thought - I want to make a short movie with him! His name is Janusz "Pin" Szpiglewski and he is about  6'3" high.



Who am I
My name is Chris Studzinski, I am living in Poland, Europe, I am 35 years old. For a year I have been learning how to operate a camera and recently I am learning how to direct.

Howard's Conan
I like Conan movies and comics, I red all Howard's books about Conan, but I am not a big big fan of this literature. But my wife is. Conan is her most favorite character and she is our expert of Hyborian Age in project.

Current status of project
I have gathered 80% of crew, about 20 people, including compositor, second camera operator, producer, make-up artists, helicam operator and so on. Everyone works for free.
Currently we are finishing draft of story. About the end of month we plan to finish the script.

Guidlines
The movie is targeted to all fantasy fans, specialy for Conan fans, so it will be published in English. We are Poles and our accents are very slavic. That's why we try to avoid dialogues. We plan to use off-scene voice, to explain the plot and maybe few really short comments easy to post-synchro.
The second guidline is low cost - of course. Most of the crew are LARP players and this way we have access to huge amount of costumes and props.
Last guidline is area where we plan to shoot the movie. It's woody, hilly area where is a lot of castle ruins, caves and beautiful white rock walls.

How you can help
For a non-commercial project most important is motivation to work. For now it would be awesome if you will like our Fan page. The crew would see the growing interest in their work outside the country.
In later stage we will look for off-scene voice and maybe post-sychro voices for Conan and other characters. We are not sure yet what kind of voices we will be looking for.

We almost finished the screenplay. And here is my ask for help.

We are going to transalte the screenplay into English and we would like to show it to few of you, who want to help and to improve it. I don't want to show the screenplay to all the world and publish it publicly as it would ruin the twist.

Are there some of you who would like to help? It should be about 9 pages of A4.

We finished the story. Soon it will be translated to English.
Meantime we published our main cast. Be aware they are not in their outfits. I just want to show you faces of the actors.


Our Conan is not a secret. His real name is Janusz Szpiglewski.


The main character of the story is Fabron Valon, noble Aquilonian, who is Conan's comrade. He is telling the story about his adventure with Conan. Real name Aleksander Jeziorski.


Fabron is going to marry Olivia, who is a daughter of ruler of Tanasu in Aquilonia. Real name Agnieszka Kurek.


The main opponent of Fabron and Conan is Kafra Amon, stygian nobleman. Real name Maciej Chotecki .

I like the look of Conan, but a bit more thicker rustled hair like Gary Nords Conan would be nice.

We plan it. Current wig is his own for LARP. We want to get more Conan look wig, but we have no budget, so we look for some bargain. By the way, it is not shown on photo, but Janusz is very tall man, about 195 cm (6 feet and 5 inches).

I am looking for a person who is good enough in writing dialogues in Howard style. I have screenplay with dialogs in English, but I need to make them more in Howard style. Most of dialogs are said by an old Aquilonian nobleman, main character of the story. Do you know such writer?

I would be happy to volunteer. If you decide not to use me, I have advice for whoever you do use. Howardian dialog as used in the Conan stories, seems to be a sort of modified, less extreme version of Shakespearean dialog (Elisabethan English). From story to story, and depending on the situation, Howard sometimes makes the dialog sound more American.

Hmm I would say the trousers are very Europeanish orientated for me. I cant imagine Conan kicking ass in anything other than a leather armour skirt or leather leggings like red indians would wear tbh.

I always do my Conan in a leather armoured skirt if I can help it. Pratical sense for moving fast, horse riding and fighting etc.

I could see Conan wearing those sort of trousers in Turan or Iranistan, but elsewhere I'm not so sure.
