The text reads:

CONAN SWORD
"Sword of the Barbarian"
Massive, full size studio reproduction sword, dynamite wall hanger, resin cast handle formed of Gargoyles on guard, reflective eyes in skull pommel, fore guard depicts Atlantis rising from the sea. Huge broad still and resin blade. $195 postpaid.
KNIFETRADER
Most fantastic sword ever conceived. The original was built for the studio at $10,000

I don't know if this is the standard issue sword or not, just thought I'd toss it up here for those that know a helluva lot more about this kind of thing than me. :)

Later!

Most probably it's one of the numerous replicas that float around. The originals were made by the late Jody Samson at Albion armorers and they are 3273 $. These are functional replicas and probably worth it, but still seems too much for an average Joe's personal budget.

Marto from Spain is making a fair replicas. I have their Atlantean sword and they are great for an impressive wallhanger. Some details are not as detailed as on the original, but not something you could nag about too much. It costs me roughly 564 US $ by todays exchange rate.

For a wallhanger closest to the original, that's it.

Marto Father's sword which is also an impressive, even more functional and beautifull, is not that detailed. The leather on the grip is different, the pommell is different, an elk skull guard is different, the runes on each, Atlantean and Father's are not engraved but etched and darkened to make a contrast and so on.

If you're chasing any of those, I'd suggest you to buy Marto's because they are way cheaper than Albion originals but still the impressive sight to mount on the wall.

Here's the Albion's site.

And here's Marto's.

?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand,
strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming?.. WOO HOO?. What a RIDE!?
