As we have yet to create a topic for the Westermarck (sometimes spelt Westermark), I thought I would start it here.
Because...
I ran across this name: Edvard Alexander Westermarck (20 November 1862 – 3 September 1939)

He was a Finnish sociologist and philosopher, apparently living at the same time as REH. I'd bet money that his name appeared in one of Robert's books, and he liked the name enough to use it as a place-name.
