Great ideas everybody, it might be awhile before I actually get any solid work done on this. The designing process will be the best part hah hah. Might have to put it on the back burners though, I'll post more stuff about it if I get any extensive work done on it, as fan games go.. it could be awhile.. If anybody could point me to some good references for the most popular characters of Hyborian legend (particularly those describing appearances), that'd be cool. Thanks everybody.

Heh, fun idea.

There are plenty of interesting characters that could make cool fighters in a Soul Calibur-esque game:

Strom - Barachan pirate, captain of the Red Hand.  Featured in The Black Stranger.

Olgerd Vladislav - Chief of the Zuagir in Black Colossus.

Khumbanigash - Gigantic Shemite warrior, captain of Constantius' Shemite mercenaries in A Witch Shall Be Born.

Kutamun - Gigantic Stygian prince, incredibly strong, fought Conan in Black Colossus.

Tarascus - member of the Royal Family of Nemedia, noted swordsman.  Eventually King of Nemedia in Hour of the Dragon.

Valeria - Pirate of the Red Brotherhood, Conan's companion in Red Nails.

And don't forget Conan's mates Pallantides, Trocero and Prospero.

Bosses could consist of sorcerers like Xaltotun, Thugra Khotun, Khosatrel Khel (the Devil in Iron, maybe second last boss), Tsotha-Lanti, and of course Thoth-Amon.  Maybe throw in a Grey Ape or Black Demon as well.

Nice secret characters could be other REH characters like Kull, Bran Mak Morn or Solomon Kane, called back to the Hyborian Age through sorcery.  

There are plenty others, I'm sure others can suggest some.

I was thinking Kull for a Hidden Fighter but since his time line in canon is way before Conan and the Cimmarian race, he could be like a spirit or something like that.  As for the Soul Calibre-esque idea, definately, a fighting game with Conan could only be portrayed as a weapons combat fighting game. Question is... For Conan, Atlantean Sword or Ilbarsi Knife?
