you've got a big guy with a sword killin' people. That's the "spirit of Conan", so as long as they have a big guy killin' people

As far as I was aware with the current casting they didn't have that.

And I can say that no I am not in the movie, almost, but.... well leave it at that.

I think it's pretty disappointing. _Looks_like they took a left-over
shot from CtB. Should have been a clothed figure , no muscles and a plain
sword - that would have teased folks. Still at least it doesn't say ....the
Barbarian .

Terry

I doubt if the project is lanched that anything is designed, so for startup I think re-using stuff in the vein of CTB is the best way to go.

I was watching the Zombie 2 (aka Zombie Flesheater or Zombie) from Lucio Fulci, where one of the screen writer explain that in these days (late 1970 early 1980) Italian cinema often started as a couple of line of synopsis and a poster. On trade show, if a distributor was interested they would say "yeah, it's in production" and would call the writer and assemble a team to get the movie done.
Well, maybe not to this point, but this poster is here for about the same reason. Millenium had a similar poster made for the upcoming Rambo film, probably re-using existing Rambo materiel as it was. Same thing here, they patched up a big sword, a big chest and a big Conan title. No doubt it's Conan; we have people talking? Great, now let's see who we cast, design the thing and film it.

In any case, it say what it has to say, and it's cool as hell that a new project is starting. By what I have seen following the production of the new Rambo, Millenium seem to start their project quickly and get the stuff done.
I sure hope it does for this one!

Still the same today, I am working with a producer now on our 2nd movie

(1st movie here: http://www.conanstev...al-version.html )

I have written a 4 page synopsis, if the producer likes it we then fake up a DVD cover and then go to investors with a pich (and good track record from 1st movie), when we get the money we make a finalised script and start getting the actors.

This is the way movies are made, also you have to remember that the producer sells to distributors that is his market, not fans or the general public.

more info here on the steps we are taking to make our next movie here if you are interested:

On a seperate note I really hope I can get a role in this upcoming franchise... but got to wait till Oct for some very nice footage from a Hindi film

We'll do this the old way.  Maybe a trial by combat is in order.   :D  To include whoever wants to write the next screenplay (I'm sure there's hordes of us) and whoever currently is working on one for Lionsgate or whatever company it is.  Whoever is the victor has been judged worthy to write the next Conan film.  No single combat, just a big mosh pit.  The agent will be waiting outside the arena with contract and pen in hand for the last man standing.

Just give me some time to get a suit of full armor made (only 4 or 5 grand).  And brush up on my horse riding.  Who else wants in?

Baron of Tor

lol, count me in!  It'll be just like old times, remind me of the low class violent pubs I used to be employed to clean up (not insinuating that anyone here is low class, well no one besides me anyway)

(7ft and 330lbs)

Who else wants in?

Conan, you're the first one that actually knows what I'm talking about. And of course you can throw your opponent out of a ring if there is one. Does resting in a submission hold work outside pro wrestling? Sure you can edit together clips of fighting for a long sequence but longer clips look better in my opinion.

Choke holds used to work quiet nicely outside the ring. To be honest if you are a lot larger than your opponent they will be on the ground before you get out of breath (but that is a whole different issue)

A movie fight will rarely last 5 minutes total so it should not be too much of an issue, though it does make it a tiring day and doing several days in a row does take its toll
