I wrote my "Young Conan" screenplays as a thought experiment.  People were saying (back in the 1990's) that the reason nobody had ever made a decent (ie, faithful to Howard) Conan movie was that it was impossible to make a faithful Conan movie.  So I wrote some Conan screenplays, just to prove that it was possible.  Then I wanted to share them.

Of course the comical style of The Goon is not how a Conan movie would have to be made. But the technical possibilities are very impressive.
