I am a woman      and my favorite genre is heroic fantasy. I spent five years in Japan and now work for a publishing company so I read alot... but my favorite out of all our lineup is the fantasy Guin, and its like Conan but the main character has a leopard mask on his head that he cant remove and he awakes with no memory in the middle of a forest.... It's called The Guin Saga. Its Japan's greatest Fantasy its got like 117 books... I've only read the first three in the states but I am definitely hooked...but with 117 I definitely say its a popular heroic fantasy book.    

I think girls differ as much as guys when it comes to interests. i love soccer, xbox360 especially when my husband loses..     i dont read cosmo or e weekly. but i def will say that beyond books i love making stuff. woodshop, knitting, cookies, cakes, tables, gardens, model anythings...  i dont get manicures and am not up to date on new makeup trends etc.  

i can't imagine a girl growing up in the 80s not liking Conan either... i mean sure i love rainbow brite and carebears and such but come on Sheera was every girl's favorite 80s female character. that's gotta be something!
