Hi. I'm new to the forums and am not what you'd call a fan as I've only read one short story by Howard. But I've read a little about him, and he seems an interesting character as well as author. I also find it interesting that he had many great contemporaries akin to him, such as Lovecraft and Tolkien.
But I'm here to ask you about the God called Il-marinen. As a Finn, I immediatly picked up on it, because the name is directly from Finnish pre-christian mythology, and it is the name of a heroic blacksmith. What can you tell me about this God in Howard's work? Can you direct me to some sources?
